Khao Sok Morning Mist Resort

This resort offers so much , The flora and fauna and amazing wildlife are out of this world

I’m gutted to be writing this review. Myself & my partner ate lunch at the hotel restaurant on arrival, firstly, my summer rolls were barely edible, the rice paper was still hard and the content was just lettuce, we managed to share one but I explained to the waitress I couldn’t eat them and asked to swap for spring rolls. I was disappointed when we were charged for both dishes, but I obliged and paid anyway. A few hours later (after not eating or drinking anything else) we both came down with violent food poisoning, resulting in us not being well enough to go to our Khao Sok Lake tour the next day, the whole reason we came here. We tried to cancel at reception at 9pm but they had closed. I managed to drag myself out of bed at 8am the next to out of curiosity, to let them know we were not well, only my to be told it was too last minute to get a refund. I’m extremely disappointed with how we were treated given the circumstances and therefore I cannot reccomend this hotel.

Can’t fault it, amazing location, 5 mins walk from the jungle. Done the night safari and lake tour. Loads of bars and other kinds of shops 2 mins away. We booked the bungalow with river view, rooms were fine, basic but air con and running shower is all you need as you’ll be on the balcony watching monkeys etc or out in the jungle or bars.

We did a stop in the Morning Mist Resort between Phuket and Koh Samui and really like it there. The bungalows are in the middle of a garden with many beautiful flowers and also you see there monkeys, frogs and butterflies. The bungalow itself is basic but has two comfortable and clean beds, a fridge and all you need. The only thing is that there is no Wifi in the bungalow itself but only at the cafe/reception area because its such a big area but thats fine anyway because if you are in the jungle then dont stick to your devices ;) The owner is a friendly woman who speaks great English and has a litte cute daughter who also speaks English pretty well. My little daughter loved to play with her! Her son helped all the guests with the luggages and also when we needed help in our room, they immediately did. So great service for only the two of them taking care of the resort! Also they have a little pool to refesh yourself. The best thing about the resort is that you get this jungle vibes with all the noises from the animals and I totally recommend to book a bungalow with RIVER VIEW! And yes, if you dont like moskitos, cockroaches, ants, geckos and all the other insects then just dont go the the national park & jungle at all because of course there you find them - also in your house ;)

The accommodation is in an amazing environment, surrounded by a jungle near the river. The rooms are well-kept and clean, and we often had a friendly gecko visitor. The staff is pleasant and helpful. I would gladly return on another occasion.

I and my boyfriend visited Khao Sok in December. We booked a lake tour which was arranged by the Khao Sok Morning Mist Resort. During the lake tour, we had a break at 'Puthawan guest house' where 'they gave us' a Kayak to explore the lake which is nearly 60m deep. After some time (around 20-30 minutes) our Kayak started filling with water. It eventually sank and flipped where we lost our valuables. We were in the water (a few meters from the Puthwan guest house) for about 20 minutes using our whistles to get help. No one arrived!! A long tail boat helped us and dropped us at the Puthawan guest house. The worst comes now, our guide started declining the fact the Kayak could sink. They **changed the plug** and **made some changes** in the Kayak tested it for about 10 minutes and claimed that the kayak was safe. Yes! There is still a faulty Kayak at the Puthawan guest house. At one point during the discussion our tour guide (I can disclose his name on request), accepted that there was water inside the Kayak where there should only be air. When we asked him to record this for us, his manager asked him or I believe he decided and left the premises unannounced. We spent the whole evening discussing and still, they were not convinced the Kayak was faulty. The unbelievably irrational person is the manager (she did not tell her identity until the end) who arranges the guides for the tours. She asked us the stupidest questions ever. e.g. "Why we didn't save our valuables when the boat was sinking?" So it is our fault that we lost of belongings. How could she ask that? Note: I know there were some tourists in the long tail boat who took our videos and photos when we were in the water. If you see this post, I would kindly ask you all to help us with the videos and photos that can prove that our Kayak sank and the Kayak was faulty. For us, it is not about getting reimbursed for our lost belongings but about pointing out the false denial of the corrupt staff. Note: I would like to thank Mr. Ekkarat who was very empathic with our experience (unfortunately he couldn't provide us with any proper solution but he stayed late listening to our experience and provided a written report of the whole incident).
