This is my third time in the past couple months coming to The Phoenician to do surprise hotel room set ups. I always have such a great experience when I come to set up for my clients special events. The staff are absolutely amazing and very helpful. They always are very attentive and helpful. I come here with my family as well to get some relaxing time and they love it as well. Thank you to The Phoenician for always giving us great experiences.

Great service, great beds, great pools. Good food at the restaurants but don’t waste money on room service. This is the “quesadillas” - more like a kids taco if that . Otherwise love everything else about the place!

Overall our long weekend at the Phoenician was wonderful! Check in was unfortunately not smooth as with titanium status we typically are able to check in early. We had lunch by the pool and were not contacted until 5 minutes before regular check in. Grounds: clean and scenic but certainly not the level of a four seasons or at Regis. Loved the cactus garden! Location: near the base of camelback mountain! The valet guys will take you in a. Golf cart towards the entrance, then you walk about 10 min to the base. The cholla hike is a double black diamond so take your water and hat! Tennis courts (1h) and bikes are included with your hotel stay! There is also one free fitness class on most days, but the rest have a fee. There is a hefty resort fee per day. Pools: The main hotel pools are gorgeous and not crowded; there are kind and attentive servers. The Mediterranean menu is delicious though overpriced! As soon as you sit down, ice water pitchers will be brought to you. I was disappointed that there wasn’t sunscreen for guests to use by the towels-something simple for this luxury hotel to consider Spa: What LOVELY facilities! Everyone from the spa check in to fitness instructors to so attendants were so incredibly helpful and wonderful! The spa is immaculate and the service was amazing except for the pool servers (who were not often present and surprisingly rude). I didn’t enjoy my massage too much but i didn’t even mind bc my therapist was so kind. We also booked aerial yoga which was fun and new, and aerial sound which was basically naptime for adults hah! As a hotel guest, you do not have spa access. You must have a paid service or fitness class booked. Restraurants: Amazing ambience, friendly servers, and very tasty food. Overall overpriced for the portions provided. Marriott status gave us $45 breakfast vouchers per day. Overall due to the great service i would recommend this hotel for a splurge weekend of hiking, relaxing, and a nice spa day. If not a budget, consider coming just for a spa day!

I recently took my daughter for a staycation here, and had such a great experience! I especially want to give recognition to Ramirez who went above and beyond during our swim. He brought out some pool toys for the children to enjoy while we were here and just overall 5 star service. Thank you Ramirez and Phoenician team. Highly recommend coming here!!

The Phoenician Resort is undeniably stunning, from the breathtaking mountain views near our hotel room to the beautifully landscaped grounds, multiple pool options, and towering palm trees that truly make the resort feel like a desert oasis. However, while the scenery impressed us, several aspects of our stay fell short, especially when compared to other top resorts in the Phoenix area. Dining & Amenities: One major concern was the limited dining hours. Most on-site restaurants closed by 5:00 PM, with The Tavern being the only option open until 8:00 PM. As out-of-town guests, this left us with little choice in the evenings aside from room service or ordering out. We expected more flexibility and variety in a luxury resort. Shops & Pool Experience: All shops on the property also closed early at 5:00 PM, and pool amenities, including the water slide, music, bar, and even the water fountains, were shut down around the same time. This was disappointing, as the pool is typically a hub of activity and relaxation, especially in the summer. Children's Activities: We were especially let down by the Funicians Kids Club, which was never open during our stay. This was a major reason we selected the Phoenician, and our children were incredibly disappointed by its unavailability. Summer Activities: We appreciated the advertised “Legendary Summers” theme, but there were no events scheduled during the weekdays only on the weekends. Other Phoenix-area resorts we’ve visited provide daily family-friendly activities all summer long, so the lack of weekday activities was a letdown. Overall, while the resort is visually impressive and offers a serene setting, we felt the guest experience didn’t fully match the high rating and reputation. With a few key improvements especially around extended hours, family activities, and consistent activites the Phoenician could offer a truly legendary experience to match its branding.

In being completely fair this is a JW in terms of common space and food/bev offerings, but the rooms - at least the Casita that I was in - was a Sheraton at best. This was the darkest, skankiest ‘Luxury Collection’ room I’ve ever seen. From the entryway where you have floor tape on the tiles from 10 years ago - half of it peeled back and a major tripping hazard - to the attempted bathroom makeover using Fairfield Inn quality furnishings, the entire room space is atrocious at best. Doors are beat up, peeling paint everywhere. There was even some nasty carpet tape holding it down at the edge. Also, housekeeping was spotty coming most days, though failing to replace the washcloths. And then the towels were so old and tattered that one literally shredded on me mid-use. Wild. The gym was spacious, the spa was amazing, and the attitudes and friendliness of the staff everywhere was lovely. That, and decent food is how we got to 3 stars. Otherwise do NOT stay here if you’re seeking upscale accommodations, let alone ‘Luxury’.

We hosted a family reunion at the Phoenician (and have been many times in the past 20 years). The team is excellent including great service from Emily at the front desk, Devon and Ernesto at Mowry, and an excellent housekeeping team with concierge. Titanium credit for breakfast at Mowry with lots of food options and Poolside food was also quite good. The athletic club and gym was great including free bikes to ride into old town. We rate the week a five but were disappointed by the Thanksgiving buffet at the tavern after previous experiences with higher quality food and presentation vs a serve yourself mediocre buffet for $140 per person all in. But otherwise great so thanks!

My wife and I spent two nights at the Phoenician in October celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary. Since I am Hilton Diamond member, we usually only stay at Hilton properties but this time we wanted to stay at the Phoenician (Marriott) since we have heard so much about the hotel over the years. While we have no membership status at Marriott, from the time we booked our reservation, my wife and I felt welcomed as a top Marriott Bonvoy member. We received an email right away from the concierge asking if we needed any assistance on our stay. When we checked in, the front desk congratulated my wife and me on our anniversary and they gave us a $50 food and beverage credit for our stay which was very nice and unexpected. The hotel also delivered a bottle of champagne and chocolates to our room our first night which again was such a nice surprise. While the Phoenician is a large hotel, it is beautiful and it is well maintained. All of the staff members were professional and courteous. We had paid for a pool view and that was worth it for the view. Due to some rainy days during our stay, we were unable to use some of the facilities like the tennis courts but we did use the work out facility which was beautiful with plenty of modern fitness equipment. We also had some really good meals at two of the restaurants. One day we had lunch at the Phoenician Tavern which is located by the golf pro shop and a short walk from the hotel. It is casual with a nice atmosphere with golf course views and good food. We celebrated our anniversary dinner at the J&G Steakhouse which was fabulous! The service was spectacular and the steaks were incredible. We would definitely recommend both restaurants and not just because of the convenience/location. Overall, we had a fabulous couple of days at the Phoenician and would highly recommend it to all. Whether it is for a couples trip or family trip with children, the hotel has something for everybody.

Not worth the money, not even close. We paid around $1,000 a night with all the hidden fees (and that’s after discounts), and this place simply isn’t worth more than $300 a night all in. Prices are outrageous, and it feels like they’re trying to squeeze every dollar out of you at every step. Yes, the hotel and pools are nice, but you’ll find similar pools and comfort at much cheaper hotels nearby. Nothing here truly justifies the insane prices except maybe the view — and even that’s not worth paying such an absurd premium for. Self-parking far from the rooms is $30 a day, faster Wi-Fi costs extra, and you constantly get the sense that everything has an added charge. It’s a beautiful property ruined by greed. Bottom line: you can easily find a $200–300 hotel in Scottsdale that will give you an equal or even better experience without draining your wallet.
