We booked an apartment at Hillside Residence Phú Quốc through Trip.com. We stayed in room 1405 on the 14th floor.
Our apartment was La Phan Phu Quoc, Hillside Apartment.
I want to warn you about all the unexpected issues you might encounter during your stay.
1. The mattress in the bedroom is so hard that lying on a yoga mat on the floor would feel just as firm.
2. The water pressure in the shower is extremely, extremely low, and you'll never get hot water. You'll have to wash your hair with cold water. That's just how it is.
3. Our room was not cleaned, nor was the trash emptied even once during our entire stay. We raised this issue with reception, but it yielded no results. So, for my money, I'm expected to clean the floors and take out the trash myself. Yet, the price here is three times higher than other hotels.
4. No water is provided or brought to the room. Not even upon check-in.
5. If you're booking an apartment to watch a show for free, don't be fooled; it's like watching TV from another room through a keyhole. It's better to buy tickets and truly enjoy the show without deceiving yourself.
6. We booked an apartment through Trip.com for two adults and a 16-year-old child. Upon check-in, we were asked to pay an additional 300,000 VND per night for the child, even though our booking clearly stated 'two adults + 1 child aged 16'. You can easily verify my words by trying to book this hotel. We tried explaining this for a long time using Google Translate, but we were completely ignored. When we asked if we would receive a receipt for the extra payment, they refused, and when I asked to pay by credit card, they also refused. This certainly feels like a scam if they deny you documentation for your payment.
And as a result, they didn't even provide bedding for the child, so the child had to sleep directly on the sofa. We had to use our towels as bedding and give our pillow to the child.
6. On the positive side, the apartment offers a beautiful sea view from the balcony, and the room itself is clean and bright.
7. The rooftop pool is not operational.
8. Even with the balcony windows closed, you can hear voices, traffic noise, and car horns until 2 AM, so earplugs are necessary for sleep.
9. Upon check-in, the staff doesn't explain the living conditions. For example, we couldn't exit the room for 30 minutes. It turns out you have to press the 'close' button twice to open the door from the inside. There are no informational signs or explanations on how to open the door from the inside.
10. Waking up in the morning, you see a ventilation grille on the ceiling covered in cobwebs. It wouldn't be difficult to clean with a vacuum cleaner.
11. The clothes dryer on the balcony is already rusty, and you'd be afraid to hang even dark clothes on it to dry.
12. Check-in is a whole ordeal. We arrived at 12:00 PM and were told to wait until 2:00 PM. We asked if we could leave our luggage in storage and go for a walk until check-in. They flatly refused, stating there's no luggage storage and it's unsafe and forbidden to leave belongings there. What kind of nonsense is that? We had to sit and wait until 2:00 PM.
13. They only provide one key card per room.
Conclusion:
I recommend booking a hotel anywhere else, and just coming here to wander around, enjoy the show, and then return to your hotel to sleep.
I've attached video evidence to support my claims. https://maps.app.goo.gl/UHSnwq1wnsuHKPG49
