SENSEA HILLSIDE APARTMENT - SUNSET TOWN PHU QUOC

Oh, this was our favorite out of the four hotels we stayed at during our vacation! I read reviews and couldn't believe how wonderful it was in the Sunset Town area! The fireworks were, of course, amazing, and you could see everything perfectly. The streets are beautiful, but you need to make sure you eat before 8 PM, as many cafes stop taking orders after that. The cable car is nearby. Overall, there are just as many pros here as in the city center, and it's great that you can swim in the pool at any time of day!

Excellent location, everything is within walking distance. It's very convenient to go up and down to the pedestrian promenade using the escalator. You can get a great view of the Sea Symphony show, the Kissing Bridge, the daily water show, and the long fireworks display at 9:30 PM every day from the 19th floor with the pool. We stayed in mid-January 2026, the best option in Sunset Town!

We stayed in this room from November 11th to November 14th. We booked the room spontaneously while already in Phu Quoc, after a trip to Sunset Town for a show. We wanted to stay and explore this town. The apartment's location is superb; despite being on the 7th floor, you get an excellent view of two shows held in the town. Upon check-in, we waited about 10-15 minutes for a staff member, even though we had informed them of our arrival in advance. Don't expect a reception desk where someone can assist you. All support is provided remotely via WhatsApp; you only interact with a staff member during check-in and check-out. It's not mentioned that there's a washing machine in the room, but there is one on the balcony and it's functional. The downsides, of course, are the service. There was no cleaning for 3 days, we ran out of toilet paper, there were no paper napkins in the room, and water was only provided upon check-in. On the first day, I spent a long time explaining to staff via WhatsApp that the internet provider account needed topping up, as there was no internet when connected to the Wi-Fi. The internet only became available on the second day of our stay. There are grocery stores and a currency exchange office near the apartments. When checking out, please wash the dishes, otherwise you'll have to pay 200,000 VND.

Cons: 1. We weren't checked in until 4:30 PM, even though we'd asked on WhatsApp if we could check in at 1:00 PM. They told us everything was fine, come on over, but that was a lie. 2. At 11:00 AM, while I was in the shower, someone started rattling our doorknob, trying to open the door. My husband rushed over, and there were three cleaning staff who said we should have already checked out. When we told them we were staying until 12:00 PM, they said that was too late and wanted us to let them in to help us pack quickly. 3. There was nowhere to wait for check-in; no seating at reception. The manager said she didn't know where we could wait or when our room would be ready. She could have taken our bags, or let us go to the rooftop pool. But no, she just didn't respond to messages. 4. There's no kettle in the room (though it's shown in photos), and no bottled water. Pros: 1. The room is new, which is its main advantage. Everything is new. There was a washing machine. I wish they would have cleaned the tables after the previous guests; all surfaces had glass rings. But the room itself is good.

The location is convenient, with all attractions concentrated nearby, like the Kissing Bridge... The breakfast package requires asking a staff member at the lobby to call a shuttle, which is a bit inconvenient. It's impressive how one staff member manages so many guests during peak season – hats off to her! On the second day, we explored the area ourselves; it's easy to walk from the small town. I'd recommend staying at this hotel without the breakfast package, as there are many dining options in town. Every night, we watched fireworks from the balcony at 7:45 PM and 9:00 PM; we even caught an extra display on New Year's Eve, making it three fireworks shows in one night! Amazing! From the balcony with its stunning views, we could also enjoy the 'Kiss of the Sea' show and the sunset! Plus, the room having a washer and dryer was excellent!

The hotel's location is excellent. I booked a fireworks view room, and we could watch the fireworks directly from the balcony at night, which was absolutely stunning. However, the hotel's cleanliness was terrible. There were several unidentified stains on the duvet, and the towels in the shower were discolored and greenish. When we asked for an extra blanket for two people, we were told it would cost extra (which isn't usually the case at other hotels). The location and view are great, but the hygiene and service are really poor.
