Wyndham Properties in Phu Quoc Island

During my recent stay, I experienced both positives and negatives worth noting. On one morning, my locked room door was unexpectedly opened from the outside, allowing a stranger to briefly enter. This was a serious security failure that made me feel unsafe in what should have been a private space. Guest safety must always be the top priority, and this incident showed a clear weakness in the hotel’s lock system. When I reported the issue to the front desk, the response was disappointing. Staff did not show urgency, offered no apology, and did not suggest a room change or investigation. Instead, they only gave me two complimentary bottles of water. This gesture felt dismissive and inadequate for such a serious matter. The hotel’s policy on drinking water was restrictive. Only two bottles were provided. The morning buffet was good, with a nice variety and quality of food. This was one of the few highlights of the stay.

While a bit of a journey from the airport, the island's free shuttle service (definitely book in advance!) made it convenient. The room, though slightly dated, offered stunning views, and the pool was massive! The beach was pristine, and we could easily walk to the nearby amusement park – beautiful and fun to explore. The spacious bathroom became our little haven for makeup and giggles. A big part of our perfect trip was the hotel itself, especially the front desk staff who showed such kindness when I felt unwell checking out. Truly a fantastic first impression of Vietnam!”
