Malisa Villa’s Kata

Kata Beach Phuket|0.17km from After Sunset Kitchen
Upon arrival at the hotel the staff were friendly and inviting. We were checked in and given information about breakfast and room service. We were then taken to our villa by golf buggy. We were shown our villa and the various areas and controls for them and then left to settle in. We were also told the mini bar contents was free and refreshed each day (2 cabs of coke, 2 water, small pack of oreos and a kitkat). At first glance it is a lovely hotel and the pool jets were fun. On closer inspection it became disappointing and didn’t improve, more on that in a sec. At breakfast there was a menu to select one item from and the portions were massive and tasted very nice. There was also a large buffet selection you could help yourself to. Fresh tea and coffee was available upon request. On arrival we advised we had an early morning which would start before breakfast opened. We were offered a takeaway breakfast that would be waiting at reception for us. The next morning upon arrival it was apparent that the order had been forgotten. Breakfast had opened by this time and we had to quickly shove some food down us while our driver waited for us. That evening we enjoyed our pool but it wasn’t in the cleanest condition with debris at the bottom and leaves floating on the surface. On the first evening after check-in, I was walking around the villa and caught the bottom of my foot on a sharp part of the wooden floor. I did advise the staff the next morning on our way out for the day and it was fixed by the time we returned. However the injury did cause pain and irritation for the remainder of the holiday as it was on the bottom of my foot. Upon returning from our first day out we found that our room had been cleaned but they had removed our dirty towels and not replaced them with new. I had to contact reception to request fresh ones. They had also turned off the air-con that we had left on to ensure the room was cool when we returned. The following day I decided to have a bath to sooth my sun burn and found that the tap to the bath was broken and there was just a small stick pointing out for me to use to control the temp and flow. We also realised that we were lucky enough to have booked a villa with a pool, as the hotel does not have a communal one and not all villas have there own. For the rating of the hotel and the price we paid it was a little disappointing. The staff remained cheerful and helpful for the duration of our stay but the issues did dampen our experience.

We were looking for somewhere to eat and stumbled across this place. My husband had the cheeseburger I had a cheese and ham sandwich both with fries. We had 2 cokes and I also had the mojito cocktail which was on offer for just 89 Bahts. All was delicious and well presented. Service was excellent too and always with a smile. Thanks again for a lovely experience.

Hello! We liked the hotel, the reality coincided with the photographs and information on the website. Convenient location, 7 minutes walk to the beach. There is a cafe next to the hotel where you can have breakfast for 150 baht. There is also a street nearby with shops, massage parlours, cafes, motorbike rentals, etc. The hotel itself is not noisy. I was very pleased that there is a whole rack of things that you can take for free (motorcycle helmets, beach mats, children's toys, etc.). There is a massage parlor downstairs, but we never used that one. When leaving, we were ordered a taxi to the airport, since we did not have the app. The impressions about the hotel are the best. The water in the shower was cool, but in such heat we didn’t really notice it and didn’t come up to ask about how to make it warmer. For the money the hotel is very good.

We came back the second time to stay at Sam’s place as we loved it last year. We had 4 beautiful days here which is right next to the beautiful kata beach. Sam , with a smiling face is always there to help you . for any needs and recommendations. Food is always available in the reception for free and you can eat and drink in a common area which is nicely decorated with love. Our room was in the second floor which was clean and quiet with a nice small balcony. They cleaned our room every day and every thing here was very comfortable. Sam also arranged us a scooter for roaming around the area which was a very good idea to see almost the whole island . What you get is far beyond what you pay. I recommend this place for any one who comes to Phuket. Will come back ! Thank you Sam

We recently went to Thailand for my 40th and had high expectations from this hotel, the location and photos looked brilliant. Sadly the only good thing was the location. The hotel on the surface looks nice based on the reception but once we were showed to our room it quickly transpired that’s where it ended. We were on the 3rd floor overlooking a busy street so we’re unable to open our curtains without being overlooked. The curtains were hanging off, the bathroom was dirty, the light switches didn’t work the lights properly and switched one off in the bathroom and not the bedroom, lampshades were broken, stained bedding….I could go on. The hotel was also full of mosquitoes which I know can’t be helped but honestly they were EVERYWHERE and we were eaten to bits. This was clearly a problem for the hotel as they fumigated that hotel everyday at 4pm. We found the hotel staff to be unhelpful and not very friendly. We mentioned a couple of things about the room not being clean, the lights not working etc and we’re told ‘it’s ok’ … was it?! If we had not have already paid I would have moved elsewhere, for a so called 4 star hotel it was deeply disappointing and clearly NOT a 4 star.

I loved the Blu pine, the villas were amazing and spacious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Resort was quiet, clean and the food at the pool side bar was excellent. I stayed in the tropical villa which had a lounge and large balcony plus a small kitchenette. Bathroom was large and well equipped. A few downsides: the location is super quiet, which is good sometimes but it was a 10 plus minute walk to the main streets and Kata beach. I didn’t mind it but the kids didn’t enjoy it. They do have a shuttle bus though that goes to the Main Street a few times a day. Not much in the way of restaurants or bars near by mainly I think due to covid closures. If you want more of a party experience this is not the place. It was 300 baht to Patong by taxi one way. All in all I liked it and would stay again.
