The Rubber Hotel Phuket

The hotel is clean, and overall it's good. My only issue – and I'm not sure if it's the same in other rooms – is that the bathroom mirror faces the bed, and it's so bright it illuminates the entire room, making it impossible to sleep. Personally, I'd suggest they fix this. Other than that, everything else is good; the room is clean, and they offer car rental.

Couldn't tell if it was a prison theme or industrial style, but my two-night stay was truly awful. I booked a family room with a window next to each bed that connected to the bathroom without any covering. The light was glaring as soon as it got bright, making it impossible for light sleepers to get any rest. The showerhead in the bathroom was fixed to the ceiling, and the water pressure was extremely low. The facilities were basic, on par with a hostel, yet I paid 1780/night without breakfast. Laundry was 30 baht, not including drying. What a rip-off! The towels were stained black, and the balcony door was broken. The room faced a hospital, where we could see into other rooms. The surrounding area was desolate and remote, making it inconvenient to get anywhere. Most importantly, someone violently knocked on our door and tried to open it with a key at midnight. My daughter and I were terrified. Luckily, my husband was with us, otherwise, I wouldn't have slept a wink all night!

Great location for a vacation; no need to wake up super early for Similan Islands tours. There's a 7-Eleven nearby, and the breakfast at the small shops outside the hotel is fantastic. The shopping mall parking lot down the main road even has a night market in the evenings, which is fun to explore. The hotel has two pools, indoor and outdoor, both clean and well-maintained, plus a self-service laundry room downstairs. The rooms are spacious, and the open-air balcony is perfect for drying clothes. And don't forget the hotel's resident cat – so lazy and elegant!

Everything was clean, a good place... a bit far out... if you're on a bike or in a car, it's suitable...
