I don't understand the glowing reviews I read before arriving at this hotel. Here are the downsides I want to highlight:
1. The towels seemed either unwashed or overused, and certainly didn't smell clean. Over our 4-day stay, it was impossible to tell if the towels had been changed or if they just refolded our old ones.
2. It was advertised as having a kitchen. As an athlete, calorie counting is important to me. There was no kitchen, just a microwave, a fridge, and some plates and spoons. I was disappointed. There was definitely enough space to install a proper kitchenette. What's more, there wasn't even a knife to cut fruit for breakfast.
3. The fact that beach towels cost extra was a huge disappointment. It's nonsensical. Two towels cost 180 baht; it would be easier to just buy a beach mat. Considering point 1 (the seemingly unwashed towels in the room), this was very frustrating.
4. I wasn't keen on the location; it was far from everything. However, this wasn't a major issue since we always had a scooter.
Pros: Cleanliness, spacious room, a 24-hour grocery store with a great selection near the hotel, comfortable bed, plenty of power outlets, good mirror.
