Best Hotels in Picton

We stayed at the Broadway motel overnight prior to catching the ferry to Wellington. It is located close to all of Picton Main Street shops, restraints, petrol station and fast food outlets. It is also close to the Ferry terminal and Waterfront harbour, The executive studio it’s king bed room was large with abutting seating area and small kitchen. Our host David was very helpful and welcoming. I highly would recommend this motel.

The bath water is super large, the decoration of the corridor is not good, the room is nice and clean and large, and the cost performance is highly recommended

A very neat and tidy room with the best outfitted kitchenette we’ve experienced in New Zealand’s South Island. Our hosts were top notch and Greg even offered to drive us to the ferry at the end of our stay. They were very accommodating with keeping our luggage when we arrived before checkin and after checkout. Thank you for a great stay.

A welcome resting place after 2 days of challenging travel conditions. We had a Twin Studio Motel for myself and my daughter which was very comfortable for our 1 night stay. The unit was set behind bushes so that even though the park was busy we had our privacy. The unit was small but everything worked perfectly and we both had a much needed good night's sleep. My only reservation is that it is a 15 minutes walk from the ferry terminal which is tiring with luggage as there is no taxi service. However this is no problem if you are ok with this or have a vehicle.

Props to the owner whom I presume is Graham he was one of the nicest hostel owners I’ve met in all four years of my traveling. Sydney: It’s been ages since I’ve stayed in a hostel and could not have asked for a better experience. The facilities were great and they had just about anything you could’ve asked for including onions and free breakfast. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Great place to stay - very clean and well presented, with very friendly staff. Walking distance to London Quay, the main street, supermarket and the RSA is right next door- great evening meal. Our room was a good size with a separate bedroom and small kitchen. The bathroom has a spa bath with shower over it. A rubber mat is provided for safety which was most appreciated. The heated towel rail held 2 towels easily. Bed and linen all very good We could look out over the harbour and into Queen Charlotte Sound. Off street parking,free wifi.

This motel is near to the ferry terminal,very convenient.the room is big and clean,face to the Main Street-High Way.There are two supermarkets near to the motel,it is easy to buy fruits,vegetables and drinks.I will choose it again.by the way,Picton is very small,but it is so beautiful and quiet.

The location is good, the room is spacious enough, and the sea view on the balcony is really good. There is a splash in the swimming pool downstairs, which is the first choice for vacation and leisure. It will be recommended to everyone.

What can we say about Top of The Town without sounding like Tracee paid us to say it?! (We promise.. she didn’t) We first stayed back in June. We’re only from Nelson and we just wanted to get away for a weekend break with our gorgeous wee dog. Top of The Town popped up as accepting pets so we immediately made a booking.. We will never bother to venture anywhere else accomodation wise when coming over to Picton - we’re both so chuffed with this place. We just stayed again in October. We hadn’t made any plans for the long weekend - we’d saved Tracee’s number in our phone from our last trip, called her up and she remembered us immediately - “I’ve got room, get yourselves over! Lovely to hear from you both, come over anytime just flick me a text when you’re near! See you soon!” - it’s like popping over to your Aunty’s house to hang out for the weekend. The best sleep we’ve had in months - 10/10 for the bed comfort and linen to die for Amazing shower pressure Real good quality towels Cleanliness unfaultable (is that a word? basically the room looks like it’s been cleaned inch by inch by ‘Our Trace’ with a toothbrush) Long story short - whether you have a pooch or not, this place is a great safe choice for quality accommodation at an extremely affordable price. I promise you, you will not find anything wrong with Top of The Town and they are a gorgeous couple that really make you feel welcome. We love having Tracee’s number saved in our phone - now whenever we have a free weekend with no plans, we know we can just give her a ring and pop over for a couple of nights - knowing our dog is 1000% welcome and knowing how lovely their place is, it’s just so convenient. What a surprise, don't be fooled by the age of this motel, built in the 1960s and still going strong. For comfort, cleanliness and a very warm welcome from the owners. We were pleasantly surprised. This is a full equipt motel with all cooking appliances and this came in very handy when we have gifted a Cray Fish from one of the locals. Comfort is the rule here with great bathroom and toilet facilities in the room
