Xingshengjiu Courtyard Hotel

Facilities: Fully equipped. Hygiene: Exceptionally clean, from the entrance door to the courtyard, everything was spotless. Environment: Quiet and elegant. Service: The service attitude was superb; they thought of everything you could possibly need and even things you hadn't considered. This was my first time staying at a courtyard hotel, and I honestly think this one is great. The hygiene and everything else were really nice. Breakfast was served at their own restaurant, offering simple local specialties that tasted delicious. The whole hotel gave off a very comfortable vibe.

The location is superb, very convenient for taxis and walking. Downstairs, there's a wide variety of restaurants and convenience stores. As soon as I entered the room, it was spotless; the carpets and bathroom were meticulously cleaned, and there were no strange odors.

The hotel's location, ambiance, cleanliness, and breakfast were already impeccable, but what surprised me even more was the service, which far exceeded my expectations. I'm truly grateful to the hotel staff for the convenience and services they provided, making our trip full of warmth and comfort. Our family of three set off from Beijing by car on the evening of September 30th, heading for Yan'an. We decided to take a day's rest in Pingyao along the way. I booked a stay at Pingyao Xingshengjiu for October 1st through Ctrip. Less than two minutes after booking, I received a call from the hotel, followed by a WeChat message. They thoughtfully informed me that self-driving vehicles need to be parked in the parking lot outside the ancient city gate, and they would send a car to pick us up. I estimated that I would arrive on the morning of the 1st and asked if early check-in was possible. The hotel confirmed it was, so we immediately set off for Pingyao. The journey was smooth, and we drove faster than I anticipated. As a result, we arrived at the Pingyao Ancient City gate parking lot around 5 AM the next morning. Having driven all night, I was extremely tired and particularly eager to check in early. I sent a WeChat message to the hotel, informing them of our arrival and that they could pick me up whenever the room was ready that morning. In my mind, I thought if they could pick us up around 10 AM, that would already be very thoughtful. To my surprise, just after 7 AM, the hotel contacted me, saying they could pick us up for check-in immediately. For someone who had driven all night, being able to get into bed right away was a huge, pleasant surprise. Usually, hotels don't allow guests to check in so early in the morning. After meeting the hotel staff, the first thing they asked was if we had eaten breakfast. I felt a little embarrassed, but the staff assured me not to be. So, upon arrival at the hotel, we enjoyed another delicious and hearty breakfast. This not only replenished our energy but also allowed us to rest on the morning of the 1st, making our brief stopover in Pingyao incredibly relaxed and allowing us to fully enjoy our time there. One night's room charge, two breakfasts, and effectively an extra half-day's stay – I've never experienced such service at a luxury hotel in a popular scenic area before. Our hotel experience was an absolute delight! They offer a free shuttle service to the North Gate of the Ancient City, and afternoon tea is a lovely bonus. Upon arrival, they generously upgraded our room for free, which was spacious, comfortable, clean, and quiet. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly, polite, and responsive to any questions we had. The overall facilities are comprehensive, making for a very pleasant stay. It's excellent value for money, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again for future trips. Highly recommended!

This guesthouse is incredibly high-end, stylish, and tasteful. You'll love it once you arrive. The room is very large and tidy. The overall decor is exquisite, and the environment is exceptionally beautiful. The staff are enthusiastic; they upgraded my room for free and were very friendly. The floors are cleaned daily, making it very comfortable – surprisingly good, and excellent value for money. I will definitely come again, and they even gave me a souvenir when I left. It's the most worthwhile hotel to stay at in Pingyao Ancient City.

This is one of the largest guesthouses in the ancient city, featuring three courtyards. It's very new and beautiful, having been newly renovated at the end of 2024, despite having been in operation for over 20 years prior. Since outside vehicles aren't allowed within Pingyao Ancient City, the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle for pick-up and drop-off, and even reimbursed our parking fees outside the city when we left. After a tiring day of sightseeing, we enjoyed coffee, afternoon tea, and snacks back at the hotel. The breakfast was exquisite, offering a chance to try local specialties like Pingyao beef, wantuo, youcha, and guoyourou all at once. Its location near the North Street of the ancient city means you can reach the core area within a 10-minute walk.

Highly recommended hotel! It's beautiful and clean, and the garden is absolutely lovely. The hotel service is exceptional; they contacted us proactively before check-in, helped us plan our itinerary upon arrival, and even dropped us off at the train station when we left. They also took great care of the elderly and children. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Pingyao.

The B&B is very close to the core area of Nandajie, and it's absolutely beautiful, perfect for photos. However, the overall service awareness needs improvement. 1. They didn't mention any of the coupons or afternoon tea that were advertised on Ctrip during check-in. I had to ask the front desk for the coupons later. I wasn't planning on having afternoon tea anyway, so I didn't ask about it, and I don't know if it was even available. Shouldn't the hotel offer these things proactively? It's my choice if I don't use them. 2. Since I was with my elderly parents and didn't want to wander around and waste their energy, I asked the B&B to arrange a guide and a car for the next day. It felt like a rip-off. The guide actually took us to five places, but for 2-3 of them, they just dropped us off and let the local staff explain. For many other places, they just briefly mentioned things and told us to look around ourselves. As for the car rental, it was 150 yuan and was supposed to be for full-day pick-up and drop-off, but they only took us to three locations. The local rate is 10 yuan per trip, and I doubt 150 yuan is fair for four people. 3. The room facilities and hygiene were mediocre. The showerhead seemed broken as the water stream wasn't focused. Since we stayed for two nights, the room was barely cleaned on the second day, and they expected us to reuse the disposable slippers from the previous day. 4. The breakfast selection was limited, and the quality was average. Overall, the value for money was not good.
