Pingyao Cheng‘s Courtyard

Highly, highly, highly recommend! The ambiance is elegant, and the rooms are comfortable and stylish – I felt incredibly cozy. The food is delicious and thoughtfully prepared; you can taste the care in every bite. The service is warm and attentive without being intrusive, making for a perfect experience. This is definitely a hidden gem of a guesthouse worth returning to again and again!

It's rare to find a hotel in the old city that perfectly blends modern design with historical architecture. The staff were incredibly enthusiastic, providing excellent explanations of old city routes and arranging a fantastic breakfast. The room amenities are very new, and the humidifier was a great touch – no dryness while sleeping. The hotel is close to the North Gate, and parking is just a five-minute walk away. 1. The room description stated a 1.8-meter king bed, but it was actually a triple room with one king bed and one small bed. There's a discrepancy between the text and the actual room, something to be aware of. 2. Unfortunately, when I arrived, the water pressure was insufficient after using the restroom, making it impossible to flush the toilet. It took almost an hour for the pressure to slowly return. I initially thought the toilet was broken, but the staff explained that low water pressure is common in the ancient town. Those sensitive to this should take note. 3. When showering, the water temperature fluctuated between hot and cold, and at one setting, it suddenly became scalding hot. Considering these three issues, it makes me question whether the price matches the experience, and it's something to think about.
