The hotel is beautiful, specially the patios. The location is just 10 minutas walking from the North Gate of the wall. In reception they do not speak English, but they were very helpful with the translator. However, if you really need to rest, this hotel is not made for you. At 7am there were already families and kids shouting and playing in the patio. Even with taps, it was too noisy to keep sleeping. The hotel is also offering folkloric dressing and photos shoots, so you might find people take pictures in front of your room anytime, also at night with flashes

Lovely hotel with a beautiful internal garden in the centre. In the heart of the old city of Pingyao and very close to one of the main roads where all the shops and restaurants are. The staff didn’t speak English (as it’s often the case in China, so no surprise) but they called a friend/colleague who did and she translated for us on the phone. Overall they were very friendly. I would recommend to make sure you have a translator app working on your phone before getting there.

The hotel is really worth recommending. The rooms are in a traditional style, very atmospheric and cozy. The room and bedding were very clean, toiletries were in the bathroom. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful - they even offered us a free room upgrade! The hotel courtyard is beautiful, the lanterns are wonderful! The hotel is very well located, just a few minutes from the main shopping street. The breakfast was also very good. In summary, I highly recommend this Hotel.

Really great location for sightseeing around Pingyao and the hotel looks like something out of an old Chinese fairytale. Only con is the extremely hard beds, but I quess that’s part of the theme

I spent only one night here and in the (early) morning I was very sorry to leave. The hotel perfectly satisfies those in search of traditional China. In addition, you get an extremely helpful staff that solves every problem.

It would be a shame for tourists discovering Pingyao to miss out on such a historic monument, which also offers pretty, romantic, and traditional surroundings. Very friendly staff. If you've never tried a courtyard before, this is an excellent opportunity for quality and price.

Hotel was in a beautifully restored building, staff was nice but did not speak English. Cleanliness was ok, however I found many long hair in the room I believe housekeeping did not use vacuum cleaner. The reason why I would not stay here again is that it was impossible to relax. I could hear any noise coming from the courtyard, including photographers giving loud instructions for hours and hours to models dressed in traditional Chinese clothes. I was even asked to move out from the picture when I dared to access my room.
