The Greenville Inn is beautiful in itself (a grand and well-preserved Victorian), and it is perfectly located for exploring the greater Moosehead Lake region any time of year. My husband and I enjoyed two full days of hiking on snowy/icy local trails using our micro-spikes, which gave us great traction and allowed us to explore both Lily Bay State Park and Little Moose Mountain. We stayed in the one of the Inn's cozy and well-appointed cottages. And we had two breakfasts and one dinner at the Inn, all of which we enjoyed. They accomodated our vegan diet, which we very much appreciated.

Very disappointing, certainly not the value for the price. Dinner was ok, with limited options but not worth the $158.00 which included tax and tip but not alcohol. I e. Ream served for dessert was freezer burned. Time to go! No bath mat for shower just a small hand towel. It is customary to have a mattress pad on the mattress before you put the bottom sheet on. Seriously do innkeepers not know that. Breakfast was 3 half pieces of French toast, 2 were the heel of the bread and precooked sausage that was over done and dried out. I normally don’t complain but we definitely did not get what we paid for.

What a great place. On a road trip, was staying in a Yurt down the road but a storm came in and we bailed to one of their cottages. Perfect place to weather a storm- cabin was warm & cozy. Had dinner with them- food was great. Chef was so nice and welcoming. The main house is filled with history and great sitting areas to enjoy beverages & their fresh baked cookies.

The whole place is set up as self-service, including making your own drinks at the bar. And then they had the nerve to put the tip on the bill twice and never credited the duplication it after I asked them to do so. Then they texted me with nasty notes. I literally watched the inn keeper send a white haired lady up the back stairs to bet her own pillow and then they want big tips for their "service".

We are Portland, Maine natives and have been going to the Greenville Inn for over 25 years (through 3 ownerships) and it has always been a nice experience and a place to get away from the crowd. The food choices are limited at the Inn but both breakfast and dinner were excellent and as good as any restaurant in Portland. We have stayed in both the cabins and in the main Inn and have found both to be comfortable and clean. As everyone is aware, in this post-Covid era there are problems everywhere with staffing shortages but even with their limited staff we had no issues. We hope they will stay open through the winter and look forward to our next trip to the Greenville Inn!

The front desk employee was very rude. She was on her phone when I walked in and did not put it down. I had to wait for her. When asked to clarify the cottage location she became very irritated and snippy. We stayed in cottage 4 on August 26th. There was garbage under the bed, spilled advil pills, dusty TV cabinet and one pillow was stained. Bet the pills are still there..My wife is vegan and there are No breakfast options...Eat what is served. I will look elsewhere when we are back in town.

Forgot to make up room 2 nights out of 4 Only body wash for shower, no bar soap Had to get your own ice from the basement Breakfast was chefs choice, however, never asked how you’d like your eggs such as over easy, sunny side etc. hash tasted like it came out of a can. Beautiful old building but it wasn’t worth the price.

The view from the porch is itself was worth the stay. But the Greenville Inn has a lot more going for it. We were greeted warmly as we arrived and given a tour of the first floor and shown where everything was. The Inn is beautifully restored with fine architectural features. There is a lovely sitting room as well as a “self serve” and pay later, bar. Our room (the Lumber Baron’s room) is actually a suite that includes a bedroom, bathroom and sitting room. It is well appointed and extremely comfortable. Only concern there is that the WiFi worked ok in the sitting room but not in the bedroom. Breakfast was served in a lovely, bright dining room. I can’t say the food was as of high quality as the facility. There was enough of it but it was not particularly healthful being heavy on the bechemel sauce. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend it.
