Aqua Bay

An honest review including pros and cons for a family of six including 4 children Will start with the cons Cons - sunbed claiming is quite prevalent and annoying. Especially when you want the beds at the front of the main pool, these can be clearly seen to be taken by certain people because they use the hotels towels. I moved x2 one time after seeing the beds abandoned for hours. A German family returned to two less beds and got a taste of own medicine the day after when they couldn’t claim the same beds. It can be pretty noisy on an early morning. Obviously people have different routines If you are looking for a adult only or singles I wouldn’t recommend as it is a family hotel even the delux The room tax - for us a family of 6 needing two rooms €210 euros the sister deluxe was €70 as they are still a *3 star hotel at the moment The evening entertainment needs some improvement The wasps - we booked for 3 al a cart restaurants on check in and one we had to leave because it was seaming with wasps and flys Hotel is set off from a main road and there’s a lot of traffic (hire buggy’s) zooming at all hours Bring a fire stick unless you want to watch the news only. All inc finishes at 11pm As people have stated it can have a smell of sewage, but I think it’s improved since our arrival as it wasn’t too bad People smoking freely in facinity of others children and with no care Would say it’s more a 4 star not 5 Lots of wasps around The music around the main pool is a bit much at times - I like dance music but after while it’s too much. They played chilled out music on the Friday afternoon which was much better Pros - warm welcoming with drinks on arrival, it was quite busy on check in with other families so it was nice to be greeted and then taken to our rooms, we were given a free bottle of wine which was a nice touch staff made a cake for my sons birthday at no additional cost and no trouble at all Shout out to Denis and Dora plus the ladies on reception, very welcoming, friendly and helpful Rooms were cleaned daily The hotel is very clean and tidy The rooms are modern The food is fantastic - plenty to cater for all and a lot of variation The water park is a 1 min walk from main hotel, highlight for my children Huge selection of drinks Snacks readily avail including light bites - great plus for my children Many of the staff members are friendly and very hard working As others have mentioned maki bar is about a 7 min walk from the hotel and situated on a beach - note use of the sunbeds is €25 it is very nice here and open until midnight From airport to hotel is 20-30 mins - this was really helpful with children Plants of pools which were suitable for little ones (non swimmers) and swimmers with room for inflatables All in all we had a fantastic holiday

We just enjoyed a 7 night stay at the Aqua Bay Suites with a swim up pool. The room was always clean and not a bad size for the 3 of us. They offer extra towels at night which I feel is unnecessary and not very eco friendly. The staff were generally pleasant and always available to help. The Aqua Restaurant was ok, good choice and only repetitive if you choose the same thing. However I always found the food a bit lukewarm. The Garden Restaurant BBQ night in the waterpark was disappointing very limited choice of BBQ food and wasps on the desserts. The wasps are a real pain, they seem to leave drinks out to entice them to one area but this doesn’t work. The a la carte restaurants were very good, the food was great and very tasty. We also had a meal out one night at the Botanic Garden Restaurant just outside the hotel which was amazing and not a wasp in sight. The waterpark was good fun even if it was a little tired. The entertainment was pretty rubbish the same singers gets boring singing slow songs. The Michael Jackson tribute was fun though. We also used the Aqua Spa which was lovely, we had massages and facials. We went on a boat trip with ABBA tours (right outside the deluxe) to the Shipwreck and Blue caves which was amazing and worth a trip out. Don’t listen to the bad reviews go and enjoy it for what it is.

We are staying at the aqua bay suites at the min and have been so disappointed so far. The first night we arrived at 10.00pm. There was no food available but after nearly 2 hours they bought us a plate of bread to the room!!!! There were quite a few guests that arrived at the same time so we were suprised they hadnt accommodated for this. The staff at reception are really friendly and helpful but the rest of the hotel staff are pretty useless. We waited nearly an hour last night in the restraunt to be asked if we would like a drink. Our daughter has a sesame allergy which requires epi pens. There is very little allergy info with the food and the waiters have no idea what food has sesame in when we ask. The grounds/ gardens are the worst I've ever seen. They are not maintained at all and the amount of weeds around the sun beds is ridiculous. Also all inclusive ends at 11.00pm. My husband was asked to pay for his drink at 11.03pm. In addition to all of this the entertainment on the night is very basic either no thought or care put into it. I've never written a review before but have been so disappointed that I felt I needed to for this. I wouldn't recommend and definitely won't be returning.

We really enjoyed our stay! We thought it was good value for what we paid, especially as we were just outside the school holidays, first week of September. The food was good and the desserts looked and tasted fantastic. Towards the end, the food did get a bit repetitive and sometimes the same pork stew appeared on the menu for several days. It would be nice if the menu changed more often, maybe with daily themed sections rather than just theme nights. The crepe bar was so good! There are two a la carte restaurant and you get one visit at each per week. There's also a buffet at the water park buffet but it was teeming with wasps, so we wanted to experience the a la carte instead. We only tried the Mediterranean one, and it was excellent - you get a welcome drink and lots of food! Drinks were great and varied with lots of cocktail options. A note for anyone visiting the water park: some cocktails that are free at the hotel bars are payable at the water park, so it’s worth checking the menu. The snack bar at the water park was super handy and we didn't mind going between our hotel and there as it was so close and also made it feel like a proper resort so you didn't get cabin fever. The water park was fun, with a cute little area for kids with slides and a lazy river. My husband and I enjoyed taking turns on the big slides. The rubber ring slide looks terrifying but is so much fun! We went with TUI so used the free kids club. The staff were super friendly and clearly enjoy their jobs. Our son liked playing in the room but was a little nervous to be left on his own. Most other kids were either babies so too young to be left there and there weren't many kids his age as most had gone back to school. We did manage to get a bit of time to ourselves while he stayed for a short period and the staff were very patient and sweet with him. While we didn’t watch the evening shows as we went to bed early with our son, we did see the aqua zumba and hear some performances. The entertainment team gave it their all every time – they were friendly, always greeted you and were full of energy. The location is very convenient, right off the main ***** with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The beach is also close – you can reach it quickly by going through the back of the hotel. You can rent sunbeds if you wish but we just used towels on the sand. There’s a nice chill-out bar a little further down the beach. I didn't drink there but it looked stylish. Our room was modern and comfortable. The only downside was noise from the entertainment at the waterpark, which finished around 10:30/11pm, and planes overhead, as the hotel is under the flight path. We used ear plugs and white noise, but were still occasionally woken up. This didn’t seem to be an issue in most other reviews, so perhaps we were just unlucky with our room location. The staff were very pleasant and friendly, everyone seemed friendly and happy to serve us and I would consider going back.

This place is fabulous all inclusive for kids and is far superior to many places we have stayed. It’s proper all inclusive loads of bars and snacks and all within a few yards of wherever you are. What really makes it are the fantastic staff in every area. Water park, bars, restaurants, cleaners , entertainment, maintenance. I could abandon my kids and know they are safe and looked after having a great time. Don’t use Tui they are useless and add nothing but cost. Book own flights, use a cab 20 euros no waiting and book hotel direct with any requests

Lovely relaxing holiday, great hotel, friendly staff and amazing spa. Had a wonderful massage with Mariza. Highly recommend
