Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort & Spa- All Inclusive

Puerto Aventuras|0.46km from Jlcfishing
Pros - safe, clean and beautiful - best wifi we've ever had. Video calls on the beach good. And it's free everywhere - enough to do on resort to keep you busy for 4-5 days. - short travel to Tulum, sailing excursions Cons - 75 minutes from the Cancun airport which puts this resort south of Play Del Carmen - the price puts the Catalonia in a category with similar/better resorts closer to other hotspots - not much seating available at the pools - Drank for 8 hours straight and wasn't drunk? Not sure what happened, but like other places there are stories about watered down booze - you use a website to book stuff and get info about the resort, but a bunch of us couldn't book a-la-cartes Tips and tricks - Bring water shoes for the beach (there's always stories about people cutting their feet on coral). - Bring small bills for tips because nobody can break down 50s or 100s on the resort. - Consider upgrading to ”exclusive” or ”privelaged” at the resort. We upgraded for 20$/day and got access to all the perks (up to 25% off at the resort shops, access to the restricted beach bar, pool, and beach area, access to 2 more restaurants, and free hydrotherapy sessions at the spa) making this little upgrade worth every penny Stayed here with my wife for a wonderful week in October 2022. The staff was mostly content and happy, but a bit understaffed at the bars. There was a considerable amount of amenities for the size of resort, with several pools and restaurants. The ocean conditions were very pleasant (bathtub warm) and the sea wall breakers kept it mostly flat. The daytime activities seemed a bit rushed at the pool/beach volleyball court, and the night time shows were well done and varied for content. I would recommend this resort if you're already planning to be down in this area, but it can't really compare to other resorts right in Playa Del Carmen or Cancun.

Riu Playacar - All Inclusive
4.2/5101 Reviews
Stayed for 2 weeks at the end of September, our first visit to Mexico and had a great time. When we arrived at the hotel we got a welcome drink and the staff on the front desk were friendly and gave us our keys and the cards to collect our pool towels. The bedroom was spotlessly clean, very spacious, a well-stocked mini bar, and plenty of towels to use in the bathroom. The safe was free to use and also in the bedroom was an umbrella and an iron and ironing board. The balcony had plenty of room to sit out and a small drying rack which would have been better if it was slightly bigger as you cannot hang anything over the balcony. The pool area was large, the pool to the right of the bar was the noisier pool as that's where the activities took place however if you don't want to join in and have a quieter holiday then the pool to the left is far enough away. The staff from the bar come around the pool taking your orders and also come around with a trolley to make your drinks at your sunbed. The first week we were there you could go down later and get a sunbed, however the second week people seemed to put their towels on very early and we found there was a party of about 18 that put towels on but very rarely actually used the beds, so we had to get up early to get a bed which wasn't really a bad thing as we got the early morning sun before it got too hot. All the staff were very friendly, and the entertainment team were great a big shout out to Mauricio (hope that's how you spell it) as he always had a smile on his face and was definitely born for the job. The evening entertainment is good we also visited the Riu Tequilla at night especially on the Friday nights for neon night and white night which were fantastic and worth a visit. The food was excellent and always plenty of choice, wine and prosecco was always flowing with lunch and the evening meal and nothing was too much trouble for them. If you didn't want to go in for lunch then there is Pepes who does burgers, hotdogs, salad etc that you can sit on your sunbed and eat. We had great holiday and will definitely be returning.
Iberostar Quetzal

This time I stayed in two five-star all-inclusive hotels in Cancun, and the other one was the famous Hotel Xcaret Mexico ( hereinafter referred to as X). Compared with the hardware facilities and scenery of X, I recommend this Chinese tourist who is not familiar with Q. ) We went for Christmas, Q Hotels are less than half the price of X Hotels (of course X Hotels include amusement park tickets, not worth the price), not far from Xcaret Water Park. Environment: Q is a very special hotel, like living in the Amazon jungle in harmony with animals, peacocks leisurely walk next to the room, on the side of the road, luck will fly to the balcony railing of the room for you to observe up close; People with a heart can also see howler monkeys, giant turtles, lizards... People who are afraid of animals don't have to worry about being suddenly frightened, except that birds are basically surrounded in fixed areas. Landscape: The largest cafeteria in Q is next to a sinking garden, and one or two people choose a location close to the railings to eat. X is the garden and Q is the jungle. Food & beverage services: Q Hotel has a feeling of being at home, the waiter is more happy and easy-going, the wine is open to drink, the buffet is fresh and there are many, basically no waiting, usually not seafood (it is said to protect the sea), Christmas day big lobster, oysters eat, not stingy at all. In contrast, the waiters at the X Hotel are all feeling of taking money and money for people to eliminate disasters. There are not many people in the buffet and they have to wait. Looking at the place, there are actually few ways to eat and drink. Activities: The beach is an open beach and does not smell the fishy smell of other hotel reviews. For me, if there is a sea, the swimming pool is superfluous, but there are often atmosphere activities organized by the hotel in the swimming pool and the beach, and there are unlimited cocktails. There are parachutes and motorboats for various charges. It is recommended to sign up for snorkeling at the hotel when the weather is clear (around fifty knives), I saw turtles and lizards.
Allegro Playacar - All Inclusive Resort

The hotel was an average 3 star hotel with its pros and cons, but you get for what you pay, food was good, not much variety within day to day, but i can say 6.5 out of 10, the rooms are also average7 out of 10, for the restaurants with reservation, you cant reserve for the day that you check in in the hotel, and what i find not fair, is that they only allow you to make 1 reservation for each 3 days of stay. The staff of the hotel only talking about, bartenders, waiters, cleaning people were awesome, but talking about front desk and guest services..... not very good service, and in that part doenst qualify that you get for what you pay.... because customer service should be good no matter what you pay
The Reef Playacar Beach Resort & Spa-Optional All Inclusive

The Reef Playacar was such a lovely experience. The grounds are gorgeous with lush jungle plants everywhere. One of the many highlights was the staff. They were so friendly and attentive. Agustin, the mixologist, is a true artist!! He made the most beautiful drinks I’ve ever seen. The flavors were balanced and delicious and he designed drinks based on what we liked. We were celebrating a birthday and Agustin, Santiago, Alejandro, Isela, Liner and Andrix made it so special.
Hotel Xcaret Mexico All Parks All Fun Inclusive
4/5121 Reviews
My friend gave me the famous Xcaret Water Park. The hotel prices on Christmas are ridiculously expensive, especially the hotels under Xcaret. So this time, apart from staying in this Xcaret Mexico (hereinafter referred to as X), the other one is not very popular with Chinese tourists. Many Iberostar Quetzal (hereinafter referred to as Q). The price of Hotel Q is less than half of that of Hotel X (of course, Hotel X includes tickets to the amusement park, whether it is worth it or not). I recommend Q more than X, which is more popular with Chinese people, has better hardware facilities, and better scenery. environment: Hotel X is a five-star hotel that Chinese people are familiar with. It has large rooms, new facilities, and hardware. The beach is very distinctive, it feels like an Avatar floating mountain. Most of the beach is reef, a short stretch of sand, and the water quality is super good. X is the garden and Q is the jungle. Catering Services: If I only stayed at the X hotel, I might think it was fine, but unfortunately I stayed at the Q hotel. In contrast, Q Hotel has a feeling of being at home, the waiters are more happy and easy-going, the drinks are open for drinking, the buffet is fresh and varied, and there is basically no need to wait for a table. You can eat big lobster and oysters on Christmas Day, without being stingy at all. In contrast, the waiters at Hotel X are all business-like, and they have to wait for a table when there are not many people at the buffet. It looks like a big place, but there are few tricks to eat and drink. I also made an appointment for a Xin Gao Japanese meal. Don't expect too much. My daughter ordered an appetizer of rice, and what was served was a bowl of white rice! I ordered sashimi without wasabi, the waiter said sorry, there is no wasabi today, I will soak ginger slices for you instead of wasabi Activity: It is very convenient to go to the park under Xcaret, every 20 minutes. The hotel has a free drop-off service, you need to make an appointment one day in advance
