We got a lovely friendly welcome from all the reception staff. They are all very informative & nothing is too much trouble. We stayed in a one bedroomed apartment, third floor. These apartments have a large balcony, 2 sun beds, 4 chairs & round table. We were lucky as weather was fantastic early Dec 26° to 30° . The apartment was large, good wardrobe space & 2 comfy single beds with flat screen TV on wall. Lovely bathroom, the shower pressure is brilliant with plenty of hot water. Lounge/ kitchen is big with 2 comfy sofas, large flat screen TV, table & 4 chairs with good equipment in kitchen. We've booked again for late January 2025 a 1 bedroomed bungalow.

Outstanding service from start to finish. Bungalow was beautiful as was the entire complex. Staff were lovely and very friendly. Food was delicious, Fantastic amenities. The lady on reception was lovely and really helpful. Our maid Diana was lovely too. She was so efficient and left the apartment spotless every morning. Sol Barbican deserves 5 ☆ because the place is emaculate. And the staff go out of their way to help and make your staff enjoyable.

Dina in the pool bar is the best cocktail maker ❤️❤️❤️. She is a diamond, her customer service is amazing and knowledge of various alcoholic and non-alcoholic is superb. We would recommend that Dina is given a staff recognition reward for her professional and personal qualities.

Just returned from a lovely experience at the Sol Barbacan. Our 13year and again we’re not disappointed one bit . From the professional and friendly reception staff to the restaurant staff always smiling to Olga our daily apartment cleaner who was charming and helpful always . The comprehensive selection at breakfast , although some of the heating lights did not heat the food enough for us. The bespoke eggs and omelettes were delicious . Our apartment on the 5th floor was excellent as well. 10/10 to everyone! See you all next February’26.

This hotel is mis-classified as a 4-star. Our room was located above the bar, and the nightly entertainment was excessively loud and disruptive. The air conditioning unit in our room emitted a stale smoke smell, which caused breathing difficulties. While the room itself was reasonably pleasant and clean, the hotel is unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues, as access to all rooms, the pool, and the restaurant requires the use of stairs. The pools are a positive feature, with ample sunbeds available. Breakfast was basic but acceptable. I would recommend bringing your own tea and coffee, as the hotel's beverage machine produced a poor-quality drink. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.

Just got back from 10 days at Solbarbacan ,what a super place. Clean spacious apartment, good facilities and good maid service. All the staff were very friendly and helpful with any small issues. We loved the aqua aerobics with Roberto ,he was fun and friendly. We were b&b but decided to eat in the restaurant El Portolon one night and had an amazing meal .The location is very central with lots of shops and restaurants nearby and we would return again.

After leaving a review following a birthday celebration at Ego - The Hollybush in Stockton Brook. And what a terrible experience we all had. The General Manager left a reply asking me to get in touch by email. That was on the 23/01/25 which i did and im still waiting for a reply. It would be interesting to find out if the General Manager replies to any of his negative reviews on here???

This was our second visit to Sol Barbacan and once again it lived up to our expectations. Always good when you revisit 12 months later and the staff remember you. Max was the first one we seen and he had a hug for all of us. The staff really make this hotel and its the main reason we returned. Max, Roberto, Cynthia & Allen are born entertainers and make everyone feel like family, They are amazing people and we had the pleasure of Max on a night out in GC, nothing is to much for them. The rest of your staff are a credit to your hotel and really make your stay fantastic. Shout out to Zita again we really love her character. Fingers crossed we will return next year in some capacity. Brilliant memories for 2024.

Nice friendly , welcoming hotel . The layout of the pool , bar and restaurant is great. We stayed 1/2 board the food was plentiful and good regards variety. New year was excellent! organised with drinks included. The room was facing the pool and was kept clean everyday. Credit to all the staff for a cracking holiday.

We have stayed at this hotel on 8 previous occasions. We have booked a further 2 visits in the next few months. The hotel is in a central location to explore the locality. There is a choice of accomodation to suit everyone’s needs and requirements. Within the rooms there is everything you will need for your stay. There is a choice of pools with entertainment available throughout the development. The restaurant offers meals and snacks for guests throughout their day. All the staff at the hotel are fantastic and can’t do enough for you. They meet all your needs and requirements for all their guests. This hotel is well worth a visit if you are looking for a great clean hotel that is centrally located with fantastic facilities. Can’t wait for our next 2 trips to the Sol Barbacan. (Feb & Mar 2025)

The Sol Barbacan is lovely, the whole experience is what you want from a holiday. Great setting, facilities spot on. Lots of different pool areas, very clean and looked after even have a lucky black cat. The staff are exception and very friendly. Only negative was Luis, staff member who was so different to the rest of the team. Luis made people feel uncomfortable

We are staying in a 2 bedroom apartment with a noisy neighbour above us. We have complained about noise almost every day, but the hotel does not seem to want to do anything about it, they claim to call the neighbour to ask them to be quiet. We are woken up at 6.30 each morning, and this seems to be ok by the hotel. They just say that we should have booked another type of hotel, instead of a family hotel. Stay away from the hotel, we wish we had done it. They could have moved us to another room, but this does not seem to be an option either. The hotel should have warnings, when you book, regarding noise, and that this will be fully axcepted.

Hotel is absolutely spotless and staff are super friendly, big thanks to Pino our maid (room 276) who always made us smile, entertainment was great and sun loungers were readily available, we stayed half board, but would go bed and breakfast next time as there’s so many lovely restaurants close by, a mirror in the bedroom would’ve been handy, mum and I will definitely return in the future.

Had a lovely 5 night break at this hotel. Reception very helpful on check in stayed in room 366 which had a sunny balcony as requested which was nice. Room was very clean , spacious with everything you needed. Balcony was fine sunloungers table and 4 chairs although did feel a bit small with so much furniture on it .Didn't eat at hotel so can't comment on food but would definitely go back again in the future.

We usually stay in Gold by Marina, however Jet2 informed us they were closed for renovations, so we had been moved to the Sol Barbacán. We were a bit concerned as we felt it would be hard to compete. However on arrival, we were delighted with the facilities on offer. A spacious one bed apartment with all the kitchen gadgets you need, a massive balcony with two sun beds, there was nothing we could fault. The jacuzzi was massive, we loved it too. The rooms were spotless, the breakfast was excellent, as was the lunch which was very reasonably priced. If only breakfast was served a little later, we could get a better lie in. Staff were lovely and always had a smile. Would definitely go back and would highly recommend.
