Axel Beach Maspalomas
We stayed 5 nights in room 123.
The room was nice apart from 2 flaws:
* the drying rack on the balcony didn’t stay up (used a chair to solve that)
* the plumbing in the bathroom smelled at various points, impossible to predict, and near impossible to easily fix… (luckily it never dropped below 20 degrees so we always left a window open)
Aside from this our stay was very enjoyable. We didn’t take the breakfast option as there’s enough little shops around, and a fridge, hot plate and microwave (and plates, Dolce Gusto, cutlery) in the room.
Staff is super friendly and accommodating, used the gym and laundry room, hung out by the pool several times, chatted and more.
In this price category it’s well located, well staffed, and fairly priced.

Loved this hotel. Very chilled - and then the Friday and Saturday pool DJ was great too. Great location for the yumbo centre.

We have wanted to stay at AxelBeach for a while. People told us it's just an expensive old hotel, but because of the name it stays busy. Well, unfortunately that is the case. The rooms look like they haven't been updated for 50 years. The TV is old and the wires behind it were frayed so badly it didn't have a signal. And the mattresses are so thin and uncomfortable I woke up yesterday with pain shooting down my lower back and legs. There's no excuse for cheap pillows and mattresses if you're going to charge this much. And we had a suite!
It's like they're happy taking the *** $ but not meeting our expectations with that money. Other places to stay are much nicer. But on a positive note, the staff are absolutely incredible. They were always so friendly and helpful. I just wish that we had a better experience with the rooms.

The building is a bit old but the room is pretty big, very comfortable.
The cleanliness is an issue in most of hotels in the island, not the best. The first day the floor got many hairs and dirt on the floor, the second day was well cleaned, maybe they lack of attention of details.
The pool is very nice, but forget about relax, the music is loud and the selection is very commercial.
There are QR codes everywhere, everything is on sale, whatever around you.
The general experience was good.

The hygiene was absolutely appaling, I understand that this is a *** hotel primarly for *** men to find each other and to chill and get together, but there was ***** stains on all of the sunloungers outside, the sauna and steam room had ***** all over the walls and smelled so dirty and clearly had not been cleaned at all. The sofa in our room and some of the walls had ***** stains, it just felt super gross. They charge you apparently for washing up liquid and I was given two single beds instead of a double which is what I ordered and they didn't seem to care, I had to chase to get an iron and ironing board even though I told them prior. Asides from that the location is great and the towels they give are fresh and are clean which is a plus I guess.
Spoke to company for resolution and got offered a VIP package instead of any money back which isn't good as I likely won't stay there again.

El servicio y el personal estupendo, la limpieza muy bien, la ubicación no está mal, pero no está cerca de la playa, pero si quiero hacer una reseña negativa con el estado anticuado del edificio, nos defraudó mucho que un establecimiento del grupo Axel estuviera en este estado, escogimos el establecimiento por pertenecer a la cadena Axel la cual tiene muy buen gusto y decoración. El Axel Maspalomas deja mucho que desear y los apartamentos,los baños y el interior del edificio es muy viejo y no reformado, sólo tiene un ligero lavado de cara.
En este punto, muy mal y decepción total para nosotros.
