We’ve just spent a week at the Akeah Brocemar. I was skeptical reading recent mixed reviews. Daniel at reception was lovely & all staff members acknowledged you. Hotel is in a great location, local amenities are within walking distance. Lots to do in local area. Although slightly noisy from neighbouring hotels/bars. Thankfully we were on the 4th floor, facing the main road & could see the sea. We did manage to sleep. However, sofa bed was a bit uncomfortable & teenage son couldn’t sleep on it, so partner took it instead for the week, after requesting some more back support. Rooms had everything we needed & was cleaned regularly. The only little gripe was water, tea & coffee facilities were not replenished. However, shops are really close, but we spent a small fortune on shop trips for munchies & water. There was plenty of choice for food & I always found something to eat at the All Inclusive. I’d probably recommend heading down for opening or just after. As a few times food wasn’t hot. I enjoyed many dishes & enjoyed the cakes/dessert. However, the flies were a bit annoying, there seemed to be less if you ate outside. We ate out a few times, the Chinese down the road was lovely & the little takeaway around the corner from the Irish bars served a lovely chicken wrap. The weather was beautiful. We overall had a great holiday. Lots of German/Dutch clientele, which I feel the hotel is aimed at. But evening entertainment did include English guests.

To put it simply this was the single worst holiday experience of my entire life, the hotel is diabolical and is woefully over rated at a 4 star! I feel it would be lucky to be considered a 3 from my experience. Where do I start... The online representation of this hotel is so far from reality it's laughable. The rooms (at least the TWO I had) were tired and had a multitude of issues (see below lists). I honestly feel a little 'duped' and that this holiday was miss-represented; I booked this hotel due to the room decor which is a trademark of LABRANDA Hotel group and having stayed in their hotels before felt really confident in the quality of the rooms and the amenities. However, LABRANDA sold this hotel last year and it is now effectively a timeshare hotel where the units have different owners and the rooms are rented back to the hotel to occupy. Issues noted from our stay, are as follows: Room 1 - Poor security - no deadlock, no chain, no bolt. Nothing outside of the door handle. - Children in the room with no way to secure the door and no door to their bedroom which was right by the front door. - VERY Noisy with room right by the stairs - Shower leaked EVERYWHERE - Took all 4 towels to mop up the water - Toilet seat (the bit you actually need to sit on) was broken - No mirrors other than the bathroom and no working plugs in the bathroom making it difficult to do a simple task like getting ready - Ants in the bathroom running around the sink! Room 2 - As with room 1 - no security / bolts etc - Sofa bed broken - twisted frame. This was 'fixed' by putting a TABLE TOP on the frame making it feel like I was sleeping on a plank of wood. I was completely unable to sleep on it and after many adjustments gave up and put it back to a sofa and slept one night on that. - Aircon unit made a VERY loud noise randomly every 20 or so minutes meaning if I did finally manage to sleep I was woken up by it constantly. - Balcony door was broken, and did not seal closed nor lock. I was advised that was ok though as we were 4 floors up! The issue however was the lack of noise reduction from the irish bars across the road, but the hotel who couldnt move me again. - The window in the bedroom (where my children were sleeping) did not close properly with only the bottom of the window shutting fully, again making it very noisy. - Whilst appreciate not the hotel directly, 2 of the 4 nights in this room we (the children and I) were woken by next door who would come back from bars at 2am and then stand out on the front balcony next to the front door and the childrens room (with a window that doesn't close) shouting and continuing their night with no consideration. General - My son has a nut allergy which was VERY difficult to navigate due to lack of labelling of allergens on food, and sometimes even labels telling you what it was! - Food quality was poor and the cleanliness of the restaurant atrocious! Dirty plates, glasses and cutlery put out to use. Ants around the

Check in was welcoming and easy, all information needed such as safe operation and meal times explained in paper format which was great. One bedroom apartment overlooking pool was huge with self catering facilities. We were All Inclusive and the food was delicious, plenty of choice which catered for all tastes. Pool was refreshing, jacuzzi warmer and entertainment adequate. I really enjoyed my stay, the staff were attentive and the complex clean tidy and relaxing. Location is good with plenty of bars shops and close proximity to the beach. I would throughly recommend this hotel and definitely stay there again.

This hotel is not a four star hotel. Firstly there were no tea ,coffee or milk facilities in the room. There was a kettle. When I asked about this I was told to take them from the restaurant but there was no milk sachets, English tea and the coffee sachet were horrible. We brought our own for the room. There were no English tv channels available as there was no signal for these channels, not a big thing but it would have been nice to see the news. There was an option to use Prime and Netflix. The room was like a self catering flat. Sitting room kitchen with separate bathroom and bathroom. Our bedroom overlooked the bar area which is really noisy and we did not get to sleep most nights until 12:30- 1 o’clock. Snacks were not included in the all inclusive they were subsidised at a reduced charge not as advertised. The cocktails only had three on the all inclusive, all others were subsidised or full price. There were flies regularly walking on the food in the restaurant and the only fly catching light was no deterrent. One day there were ants on the table by the tea and sugar. There were insufficient umbrellas for the amount of sun beds around the pool. Entertainment was shocking one night the entertainment was a bar crawl, something I have not done since I was on an 18 to 30 holiday. The entertainment was mainly for the German and Dutch, as this is run by Alltours a German holiday company, this is not really a hotel for British. In general the hotel is ok and the staff were friendly and worked hard ( which is the only reason I have given this a 3 rating) it’s a shame that the management are letting them down and not maintaining a four star standard. I would not return to this hotel.

Good bedrooms,pool..etc but lacks any kind of entertainment and the one they have is basically fully for germans, karaoke just singing songs in german, no good entertainment in the facilities besides swimming at the pool, drinks are the most simple that exist, dishes usually dirty and food is okay at best, very disappointed in this hotel, they do not announce when there is an event happening like the flee market or something like that, the place is beautiful and good beach but the hotel lacks alot, besides that, they barely label the food so you need to always ask to know what it is,staff is really friendly but the hotel itself lacks alot, its okay i guess if you are german but besides that its a no go.

First impressions on arrival on Friday were good ,Daniel at reception very helpful and informative, went to our room on ground floor next to pool, overall ok , however air conditioning didn’t work properly told them and a man came out on Wednesday and made it worse! AI isn’t actually AI certain cocktails not included and snacks , AI is meant to be everything , always has been in other TUI hotels that been too, emailed TUI and they sent email of a copy of the drinks list and was different to what hotel had spoke to customer relations manager at hotel who was very patronising asking me did I know how AI works! Promised she would check drinks menu and get back to me , never did . Rooms big , however AC useless shower didn’t drain properly and leaked all over bathroom floor , no plugs near mirror so impossible to dry hair properly ! Bathroom was of poor quality not what you would expect for 4* hotel. Flies in restaurant dirty plates etc, food not replenished so at times not much left , pool area was nice and clean , bar staff very friendly and hard working , as often on there own with big queues especially at night . Drinks served in plastic cups at night , not what expected for 4* hotel, yes in the day but not at night . Overall disappointing, nice resort though with plenty there , ate out several times due to poor quality of food and the flies !

I personally feel the other reviews for this hotel are extremely harsh and untrue, myself and a friend had a week long stay here and it was really good. Every staff member that we had an encounter with such as the receptionists, kitchen staff, pool bar staff, was friendly and very helpful. I have coeliac disease and had contacted the hotel prior to arrival to make sure that the hotel was suitable and Fabienne (Guest relations manager) was very very helpful, and met with me on arrival to go through what gluten free options were available and helped me access GF extras (the hotel do not put these out unless asked for to ensure only people that need it can have it) the head evening chef was also very helpful once he was made aware and would put out extra bread rolls and cakes for me, and even had a GF pizza cooked especially for me one evening at dinner. There was also a good range of regular food, with something for almost everyone. Allergens are not always clearly labelled but the staff were happy to talk you through it. Alejandro at the pool bar always greeted everyone with a smile and prompt service, and the entertainment staff are there every day with smiles on their faces and providing lots of games in and out of the pool during the day, and fun entertainment at night time. Our room was extremely spacious and clean, aswell as all the other areas around the hotel! The pool and poolside was clean everytime that was used it with plenty of sunbeds for everyone. Overall, our stay was excellent and we could not fault any of the staff or service that we recieved!
