Hotel Plitvice

Nice location, nice staff, nice hotel and good to stay

Terrible breakfast - lousy coffee, poor quality food No hotel amenities - could not even get a hot water urn for the room Poor information from front desk (told us we did not need a reservation at a restaurant and we did need one Room was not cleaned well - toenail clippings left by a previous guest The only thing to commend this place is its locals near entrance 2 to the lakes. The lakes are amazing; the hotel was awful and not cheap. We paid 190 euro per night and stayed 3 nights. The hotel does extend the one day lake entrance ticket you buy if you stay longer No elevator so you need to haul your bags up the steps (or wait for one of their staff to help). I would recommend that anyone visiting the Plitvice lakes stay somewhere else. Even the lobby coffee shop which you pay for served coffee made from old or scorched coffee beans. We stayed at similar level places in rogaska slatina and the food, service and coffee was far superior. Hotel plitvice is just not trying at all. Stay away.

The receptionist was friendly and doing the best she could, but it seemed like way too much work for one person. There was a line to check in and the phone kept ringing. But we eventually made it through the line. Our room was a good size, with one double bed and one single bed plus a desk and a little table. The closet had a large size safe that could easily fit a laptop. The bathroom was a good size with plenty of counter space. The room was clean but seemed to be a little outdated. There was no AC in the room but we opened the window in the evening to let in the cool air. The one negative was not enough power plugs and the few that were available were not in convenient locations, for example not near the desk or the beds. Another gotcha was that my phone did not charge at night and it turned out that I needed to have the switch near the door on, to power the outlet. The breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of choices. The hotel had a large lobby area and a beautiful outdoor seating area. The best part and the main reason to stay in this hotel is that it is a very easy walk to the entrance of Plitvice National Park. We booked the package that included free entrance to the park with our hotel stay for every night we were at the hotel, which was a great deal. To get to the park entrance, you just need to exit the hotel turn right, up the stairs off the parking lot, then right again down to the walkway. Walk down the walkway and in approx. 5 minutes you will see the entrance to Plitvice.

The Hotel Plitvica is a wonderful accommodation in the heart of a spectacular Croatian national park. We visited during the late September shoulder season. Things were likely a bit more calm than during the summer high season. We had a Junior Suite which was welcoming and comfortable. You’re away from urban restaurant choices here and, especially during the “off” season, dinner choices are a bit more limited. But both nights of our stay we dined at a local pizza restaurant that a hotel driver delivered us to and brought us back. It was wonderful. Breakfast is a buffet in a large dining room with attentive staff. The hotel is welcoming and Plitvice National Park amazing! We recommend it!

Disappointing. It was supposed to be a lakeside hotel, but there is no view at all as the room is blocked by a tree and beside an abandoned building. Very aged hotel. Also inconsistent service at front desk - first night was a seamingly uninterested guy, but our following nights were more pleasant with a very friendly and helpful lady (i think Marja was her name, but apologies if i have spelt her name wrongly). Pillow was way to soft and uneven; which does not provide any support to the head or neck for a proper rest. Not much options for food for breakfast, and quality of food could be improved too. The only saving grace was the proximity to the national park.

Excellent location, you can have part of park to yourself after park closures and tourist crowds have left. Both breakfast and dinner are wonderful, we stay overnight for lovely Plitvice National Park, very relaxing and rewarding.

Obviously great location which is really why you'd book here. Room was clean and functional, bed fairly comfortable. There was a minibar in room, handy if you want a fridge for your water. We booked a package so park tickets included. Car park free. Breakfast very nice. Dinner was really just OK but at least it was convenient! Odd way of doing things though. There were 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts but you couldn't choose what you wanted of each, you had to choose Menu A, B or C which meant you might get the main you wanted but not the starter or pudding! OK if 2 of you, you can mix and match. Oddest thing was check-in. We arrived 20 minutes early but NO access to room before 2pm and no reason given. Guessing fairness? If some rooms ready and others not? Just felt a bit silly as when we were allowed upstairs a few minutes before 2pm it looked like they were all ready and it felt a bit jobsworth. Fair enough if people are an hour or two early but 20 minutes?! So, I guess I recommend the hotel based on location but otherwise maybe better to be just outside park.
