Plovdiv Old Town Plovdiv|0.23km from Agora
It’s hard to imagine how a pocket boutique anywhere could be better. We loved it! Six stars! Location: Near the crest of the historic Old Town, a stone’s throw from the Roman theater, you pass under a spindly boom pole setting the tone that you are entering a special gated community. (Just tell the watch person you are a hotel guest.) Décor: It really is an art gallery. Original paintings by contemporary Bulgarian artists are installed throughout. The little breakfast/refreshment keller has catalogues and books about them. The rooms are few enough that you have the sense of staying in a private home. And the wonderful blending of historic, quirky and contemporary touches results in a delightful envelope of character. Barely open two years, it has the assured demeanor of a comfortable longtime resident. Rooms: We stayed in a Deluxe Room on the top floor. What fun to lie in bed gazing at the stars through matching skylights with electronic controls for the shade and shutter on each side. Good storage, outlets, and sitting space. Bathrobes, luxurious Etro amenities, sleek fittings in the bathroom. A small balcony gave us a view over the city. We took a full, leisurely room service breakfast. Service: The door opened to a warm welcome, a full rundown of the routine, and a chance to pre-order breakfast. Checkout was equally friendly and efficient. There is no elevator, but the evening manager carried our bag up when he showed us the room. Surroundings: Although not immediately obvious, street parking is easy; the historic mansions from various periods are an architectural delight. But be aware, the cobblestone streets are serious; it’s no place for heels! Finally, a note to snobs: Until we checked out, I had no idea I had just stayed at a Best Western. If The BW Premier Collection is an example of their latest foray, I’ll be looking for more stays with them. Bravo!

Plovdiv Old Town Plovdiv|0.44km from Agora
This is one of the nicest, most comfortable hotels we have ever stayed in. We stayed in one of the small rooms (Elegant) for 3 nights and while small, the bed was large and comfortable. Our room had a great little terrace that looked out over the street which we used every even to drink some wine and people watch. The bathroom was very clean and even better had an actual large shower, with a door that closed and did not splash water all over the floor, which is a rare and surprising luxury in Europe. The included breakfasts were delicious and had a variety of offerings including very good scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, french toast, small pasteries, etc., along with the usual cold meats and cheeses, yogurt and cereal that most hotels offer. The staff was very accommodating and extremely friendly, and they gave us a nice little tour of the Roman bath that was discovered during construction, which added to the charm and ambiance of the hotel. The location is excellent and very walkable. There is a private parking lot, but we ended up not using it since we only rented a car for one day. Our only complaint was the room got kind of stuffy at night, but we could not use the air-conditioning because the central system was set to heat (it was late October) and they could not switch on the A/C to one room. We did open the window to ventilate the room, but closed it while sleeping due to the proximity to the street noise and vehicle exhaust (not the hotel's problem, Plovdiv would be well served to limit vehicular traffic in this area). Overall, a fantastic hotel with incredible staff and a great value!

Hotel Imperial Plovdiv, Radisson Individuals

Our stay at Hotel Imperial Plovdiv was nothing short of extraordinary! We were there for a week to attend a wedding, and the experience was filled with joy, laughter, and impeccable service. The wedding reception was hosted at the hotel itself, and oh, what a splendid affair it was! Everything was executed to perfection, from the decor to the organisation. The staff were so incredible that we couldn't fault them, even when some of the groom's side got a bit too tipsy before the wedding party. They handled everything with grace and a smile, making the entire event flow seamlessly. The food was a delight to our taste buds. Each meal was prepared with care, and the included breakfast was an absolute MUST. It became our favourite way to start the day, filling us with energy and anticipation for the adventures ahead. And speaking of adventures, the concierge was a gem in helping us explore Plovdiv, a city rich with history and culture. They provided us with a map and insightful suggestions on things to do in the area, making our explorations all the more memorable. We would come back to Hotel Imperial Plovdiv in a heartbeat! It wasn't just a place to stay; it was a home filled with warmth, excellence, and genuine care. If you ever find yourself in Plovdiv, do yourself a favour and stay at this remarkable hotel. It's an experience that will stay with you long after you've checked out. With heartfelt thanks,

We stayed here two nights recently and everything was perfect. The rooms were very spacious, the size of a small apartment. Well stocked kitchen and a decent sized bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean. The location was steps away from dozens of different restaurants, they even have one on location. We were also an easy walk from everything we wanted to see in town, with the train station an easy 25 minute walk. Best of all, the folks at the front desk were absolutely wonderful! The offered excellent advice on what to see in town, were super-friendly, and even arranged a cot for our toddler to sleep in, despite ********** indicating none was available (we did email and ask ahead of time; was set up waiting for us in our room). We will certainly look to stay here again the next time we are in town.

Very angry, not polite, not correct and not friendly manager on the reception. I felt unthinkable rudeness here, disrespectful attitude towards guests. For other staff no questions, only the administrator had terrible behavior. Let's hope that someday the administrator will know and feel the humiliating attitude towards himself personally. Perhaps she will be in future a good person, but there are strong doubts about this. Never, never will back to this hotel!

We booked a junior suite and enjoyed a very pleasant room with all the usual amenities. There was a very long and dark corridor to get to our room which is OK as long as you don't drop anything and expect to find it again. The hotel is ideally situated for exploring Plovdiv and filled our needs perfectly. If you choose to include breakfast with your booking you have to go to a café about 40 yards away. The breakfast is nice enough but the menu is very limited. The big plus point about this hotel is the reception staff who are so nice and friendly. This hotel is recommended for a short stay in Plovdiv.

Our host Mitko was such a great help and really gave valuable advice about where to go, and how to get there. The Hotel is situated within walking distance to the Old Town and all the historical sights. Our room was spacious, comfortable and cleaned to a high standard. Mitko went above an beyond with his attention and friendliness, super and enlightening conversations. The breakfast was delicious, and plentiful. Thank you Mitko for your super hospitality, we will be back. Roy and Mary
