Sheraton Kauai Resort

I had a really strange experience at this hotel. It's a Sheraton resort, beachfront, with a gorgeous beach. However, it's all self-service. I had to park my own car and carry my own luggage. There simply weren't enough sun loungers for all the guests; you had to reserve them early in the morning, just like at cheap hotels in Turkey. And the loungers themselves didn't even have umbrellas! Unbelievable! Room service brought food with, you won't believe it, the cheapest plastic forks and knives. Even on airplanes, you get better cutlery. Beach towels had to be signed out. If you wanted an umbrella, a sun lounger with an umbrella was $100 USD, and a cabana was $250 USD per day. As for the food in the restaurant, like most places in the US, it's very much for meat lovers with a caramel sauce, reminiscent of cheap motel diners. Plus, on top of all this, you'll pay an additional $59 USD per night for Hawaii state taxes! Seriously, don't be fooled by the Sheraton brand and its 5-star rating. At best, it's a 3-star equivalent, but it costs an arm and a leg.

Terrible service, and it's awful that if you ask to stay a little longer on your way out they charge you $50 per hour!!!

The location was great. The sea was right in front of me so I was able to spend a comfortable time. Amenities were provided at a minimum, but it's better to bring your own toothbrush etc. Coffee and tea were provided but there was no kettle.

It takes half an hour to drive from Lihue Airport to the hotel. Check-in is very fast. The room is very big. There is a swimming pool outside the window, facing the sea and the spring flowers are blooming. The hotel gives 50 credits every day, which can be automatically deducted when you spend money in the three restaurants in the hotel, hang up your room account, and check-out. The life in the resort is leisurely. There are yoga classes at 8 o'clock every morning. You can practice on the outdoor grass and it is very pleasant under the sun. I ate at all three restaurants and it tasted very good.

It was a very good vacation experience. Every employee in the restaurant and guest rooms was extremely enthusiastic and friendly. Members received a free room upgrade. The food in the restaurant was good and the whole family liked it. We will continue to stay here next time.

Stayed in the hotel for two nights. Overall it was good. There is a beach just outside the door. It is worth mentioning that the beach is very beautiful. The only disappointment is that there is no spa and brunch. It would have been perfect.
