Good location beside train station buses and taxis 10 min walk to centre nice staff But that’s it a very basic place Don’t book an economy room shared toilet hand sink broken

This is an independent hotel across from the train/ bus station in central Poitiers (so don’t expect 24hr manned reception and other luxuries ) but what you get is a warm welcome and lots of character. Whilst arriving outside reception hours after calling the owner I was checked in and given key to my room which was comfortable and despite being road-side, was quiet, with shutters and double glazing doing their job (but don’t expect silence) The room was well appointed and clean, separate toilet and shower room. Water pressure was adequate and in-line of a building of this age. I took breakfast in the morning which was a continental selection of cereal, pastries and bread. It is nice to avoid chain hotels occasionally and support smaller establishments. .
