We stayed in the King Room with a whirlpool bath (Sailboat) for seven nights and had a truly wonderful experience. Although the room did not have a kitchen or kitchenette, breakfast was included and prepared with so much care and love—especially appreciated as my husband requires gluten-free options. Carola, our hostess, and her incredible staff went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. Each morning at breakfast, Carola personally explained in detail what was on offer. The variety was exceptional, with everything homemade by her talented chef. Without doubt, it was one of the best breakfasts we’ve enjoyed in all our years of travelling. Carola also provided excellent restaurant recommendations, warmly greeted us on arrival, insisted on carrying our bags, and was just as attentive on our departure. I’m especially grateful to her for organising private drivers for our trips to Matera, Alberobello, and Ostuni, as well as a seamless seven-hour transfer to Tuscany for us and our son and new daughter-in-law. The room itself was spacious, spotless, and featured a stunning balcony with French doors overlooking the lively streets below. We spent many hours enjoying the music and vibrant atmosphere. While weekends can be a little noisy, the ambience more than made up for it. Guests also have access to a rooftop terrace with a kitchenette, dining area, and lounges. We took full advantage one evening, enjoying a picnic with breathtaking views, live music drifting up from below, and a spectacular sunset—an unforgettable experience. I cannot recommend this accommodation, or Carola, highly enough. While it is on the pricier side, it is absolutely worth it for the exceptional location and everything Polignano’s old town has to offer—bars just outside the door, wonderful restaurants, charming shops, and only a five-minute walk to the famous beach.
