********* Booked a dog friendly room which was placed right by the entrance and laundry cupboard which results in constant noise at all hours and the headboard physically shakes each time an internal door in the corridor is open and closed or even when people walk down it. It also sets the dog off with all of the high foot traffic which isn't great and we'd have been better placed at the end of the corridor. Room itself was clean, sadly only 1 set of towels provided and so had to ask for a set for my partner to use (in a double room this seems like it shouldn't happen) and it took them over an hour to supply these. Room looked out onto the flat roof of the ground floor which was covered in detritus and needs cleaning up. Window, when shut, does do a decent job of stopping outside traffic noises. No draws anywhere in the room, just a small shelf above approx 5 hangers for your clothes which isn't great. No glasses or paper cups provided in room, just two tea cups. Standard mini kettle and tea/coffee which we didn't use. Shower is ok but curtain not fit for purpose and allows lots of water to soak the floor. Bed was reasonably comfortable, apart from the shaking headboard mentioned previously. Whole hotel was quite warm even in late March and with the room heating turned off, I think in the summer it would be very uncomfortable as no A/C and window only opens a crack. Worst part is that although like other travelodges it allows dogs to stay for a supplement, this one does not allow dogs anywhere in the bar/breakfast area at all which makes it impossible for dog owners staying here (indeed, the dog was the only reason we did stay here) to use these facilities. This should have been made clear before booking and should certainly have been explained more politely to us than it was by the very rude and abrupt female staff member the first evening we went in to ask where we could sit with the dog to be told "no dogs allowed anywhere in here" (this was NOT the blonde Eastern European lady who was very nice and helpful) and left us feeling very unwelcome and as if we'd done something wrong. Having children run around right at the bar at 10pm was apparently OK though. The location of the hotel itself is OK if you're able bodied, it took us about 15 mins to walk to the quay. Parking is a bit confusing and not well labelled but we managed to find a space. We wouldn't stay here again now knowing the unusual no dog seating area issue, the slightly tatty appearance and huge room noise / shaking headboard and wall issue, there are much better options around.
