Vila Senhora Da Rocha

Hands down one of the nicest resorts we have stayed in. The apartment was clean with fresh towels and complimentary shampoos on each bed. Plenty of space to cook in the kitchen. We stayed in 59a and it was perfectly positioned. Right by the pool 5 mins from the small beach. 10 mins to the bigger beach. We booked here as my brother was getting married and the church was 5 mins away. Right beside lords bar and a lovely restaurant (can’t remember the name ) food was great staff were lovely. Only down was it’s bit of a trek to a shop. I’d suggest putting small convenience store in where the second restaurant used to be. There’s a small market shop about 15 min walk away up a hill , which is fine but in the heat feels like 22 miles!! Could definitely benefit putting a shop on the resort. But a small inconvenience that would not stop me returning.

Just spent a week on this development to attend a friends wedding. Our first trip to the Algarve. We stayed at Vila Marine on ***********. We had a first floor, one bedroom apartment. Everything about the apartment was first class and we had a most comfortable stay. Spotless, comfortable beds , great aircon and a partial sea view from one of 2 balconies. The development itself is quite large and a little bit away from the restaurants (5-10 mins walk) but that meant is was very quiet. Pools are salt water (very mild) and not heated. As the average temp was 30c+ this was quite pleasant. Sunbeds tended to get filled by about 10am so I'm afraid we joined the crowd and went and blagged them on a morning. There were 2 restaurants on site but one is now closed leaving Aquaresto. Its a pleasant place and staff are friendly. Lunch/coffees etc. are not too pricey but dinner and wine is (100 Euros+ for 2) so we only ate dinner there once. I'd have to recommend Palmeiras bar and grill near the Pestana Viking hotel. Food great and half the price of the on site restaurant. Beach is very close but there are very steep steps. You need beach brollies too as there is no shade at all. Pleasant at sunset though. We didn't have a car so nearest decent shop was 15 mins walk. Taxi would have been a good idea but we toughed it out in the heat. We'd go back but feel there is a lot more of the Algarve we need to see first. P.S. Used Yellowfish transfers (about 100 Euros) who were superb.
