We are disappointed with the lack of professionalism and security at the hotel. We suffered a serious case of harassment, we reported it to the hotel and they did not even want to call the police. We felt unprotected since the harasser threatened us with death, and the hotel did not respond to all this. There was no protection or security on their part and to top it off, scared, we had to leave the hotel early seeing the little security they provided us. A disaster in security. We are going to sue them.

A really good hotel , lots of facilities to cater for families, there is always something to eat 24 hours a day . All good things to say about the hotel . Very close to the beach . Unlimited amount of sun loungers. No one hogs the sun lounges. Very good
Response from Property: Dear Damijl, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave your comment! We are delighted that you´ve enjoyed your holiday with us. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the near future. Sincerely, Filipa Dias - Guest Service

Just got back and it's one of the first holidays that I was looking forward to getting home so I could have a good night sleep. First night we were kept awake from guests next door who were shouting and slamming doors until early hours of the morning, I spoke with reception in the morning and was made aware they were checking out so left it at that The rest of the stay was much the same. People running up and down the corridors, shouting and slamming doors (second floor) Food was okay, I enjoyed it but it's very repetitive one thing which was frustrating is unable to get coffee or tea with lunch or dinner Hotel was extremely clean and well looked after Kids club was good. My daughter loved it Evening entertainment, was poor, working on a weekly schedule so seeing same show twice when it was bad the first time wasn't fun HEY..HEY..HEY please stop saying hey during evening entertainment If you struggle with walking/mobility its probably not the hotel for you All inclusive package was very good with a nice selection of cocktails Overall it was a nice holiday but I wouldn't book again
Response from Property: Dear Craigprickett1234, Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent stay at our hotel. We are delighted to hear that you had a positive experience overall. We apologize for the issues you encountered with the noise, food, as well as the ervening entertainment. Your feedback is important to us. Therefore, regarding the food we offer diverse dining options, including an à la carte restaurant, and our main buffet where we feature different thematic nights to enhance the variety. We aim for our guests to savor unique experiences, and we regret that you did not have the opportunity to enjoy them. Concerning the evening entertainment we will pass your feedback to the respective department managers. However, we're glad that you found our Hotel spotless. We hope to welcome you again under better circumstances and improve your opinion of our services. Sincerely, Filipa Dias - Guest Service

We come here for a family holiday of 5 2 adults and 3 children. The hotel is spotless and all staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are very spacious and beds are very comfortable with air-conditioning. The cleaners come in every day and clean your room and change your towels which is lovely. There's a few different places for breakfast lunch and dinner for the all inclusive. Lots of choices of food so no complaining there . English style fry up we didn't like the taste so we did get the odd uber into the main towns for a full English but that's pure preference. All the pools and areas are really clean with a bar never to far away for a cocktail or 6 lol. This is the perfect hotel for more of a quiet get away. If you want the loud strips and busy bars there all within a 30 mins uber ride which never cost us more then €12 euros to get to. We visited zoo marina which we loved a few of the slides were closed which didn't really bother us. The beach Is a 10 minutes walk from the hotel which has a lovely little restaurant on the beach and pedalos, paddle boards etc to rent and sun loungers all really reasonable prices. The shops on site and next to the hotel are pricey so I'd suggest a uber to the lidl if you want bits for your hotel room this was €5 each way and has alot of the usual we have back in England. As a whole I'd 100% recommend the hotel and come here again
Response from Property: Dear U1894Okylieb, Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent stay at our hotel. We are delighted to hear that you had a positive experience. It's wonderful to know that you found our hotel spotless and appreciated the availability and quality of the all-inclusive offerings. We're pleased that the rooms were spacious and that you enjoyed the fabulous pools. Thank you once again for your comments. We look forward to welcoming you back for another enjoyable stay in the future! Sincerely, Filipa Dias - Guest Service

This is one of the biggest hotels we have stayed in as a couple, on arrival the staff at reception were polite and informative explained everything very well. We were early so couldn't go to our room but we could use the facilities and get some lunch. The room was ok as far as rooms go, it was clean but no double bed it was 2 singles pushed together, and there was no kettle, tea or coffee available in the room. We had to hire the safe and pool towel cards but we did get some of that refunded at the end of the stay. We did have a room on the 8th floor with a side sea view as we requested but we did have some noisy neighbours but couldn't tell reception as it was hard to tell which room they were in. The food was ok but at breakfast you need to like eggs and pancakes as there were eggs everyway you can think except poached but not many other cooked items, so I had eggs on toast every day there was bacon but it was really chewy. The food was very much the same every day. The snack bar was the best for me. The coffee machines made awful coffee it was like drinking syrup and I don't have sugar. There were only 2 bars of an evening once the pool bar was closed which for such a big hotel was not a lot as the lobby bar was quite small, I didn't feel there was a personal touch either as I'm so used to having the staff interact with you but they were all polite. The pool areas were clean, there was never an issue getting a sunbed, however the ones by the pool were so hard and as I have a bad back I couldn't lie on them for long so always had to go in the grasses area. On the first night we went to watch the entertainment which they didn't speak in English it all seemed to be french or Spanish so we didn't stay and to be honest never went to watch any again, so can't comment on the rest. It was a short walk to the beach however you had a lot of steps to go down but the beaches were beautiful. There was a land train to the old town which was €4 euro for a round trip you can get off and on once. It was a good hotel for families with children but we as a couple wouldn't stay again.

We had a fabulous week at Ukino Palmeira. The location is in a lovely quiet area beside a fabulous beach. Beds are super comfy. Spotless clean hotel. Great selection of food at each meal time. Great kids entertainment. Lots of sun loungers. The friendliest staff. 10/10 holiday would recommend to all.
Response from Property: Dear Caroliano, Thank you for sharing your positive experience! We're delighted to hear that you and your family enjoyed the location, the acess to the beach, great food and daily entertainment. It's wonderful to know that you found our hotel spotless and appreciated the availability and quality of the all-inclusive offerings. We will pass on your compliments to our staff, which is the best motivation we can offer! Thank you once again for your comments. Wow we have been on many holidays and stayed at many hotels and this one has been the best by far! We traveled with a family of 4 10 and 14 year old! Hotel was spotless every part, staff always around the pool collecting empty cups. Our room was spacious and cleaned everyday beds super comfortable. Pool areas both brilliant, we went to the pool with the slides more as there’s more going on and the beds are more comfortable, beds at the other pool were hard plastic but that pool is great if you prefer a bit less noise. Pools didn’t open to 9 so no reserving sunbeds and worked so much better, I queued up from 8.40 and got a sunbed under an umbrella but there is always plenty of sunbeds around but if you want a particular bed best queuing, bets the 6am sunbed alarm. Food was amazing nicest food in a hotel we have ever had, always plenty of choices and something for everyone. We had everything from lobster, prawns, sushi, chicken, beef, pasta, pizzas, salad, breads and LOTS more! The desserts were just as nice cakes, chocolates and ice cream! Drinks in the restaurant was actually nice the wine wasn’t too bad with a touch of lemonade in it. Drinks in the bars were strong and made fresh. They had branded spirits which is a bonus in all inclusive and slush puppies was a great hit with kids and adults! Entertainment team worked hard… shows were the usual dancing ect same as most hotels, they sell popcorn and candy floss for €3 which is worth it they are lovely. They done a 11 year birthday party and was brilliant food all day foam party and a special show with fireworks after. Some other guest are extremely rude and push in at dinner times, even when we waited our turn for the lift a family pushed in and took the next lift, don’t want to say what nationality because I’m not 100% sure. I ended up telling my two kids that if they got pushed in front of to do it back! Also the toilet beside the restaurant my daughter used and some lady was washing her child’s bum in the handwashing sink pretty disgusting in a public toilet outside a restaurant! Download Uber app to use, taxis only €9 to zoo marine great day out and worth the money €4 to the local town lovely for a walk around to buy the usual souvenirs and a cocktail. All staff work endless marking sure the hotel runs smoothly and it doesn’t go unnoticed. Would definitely return to this hotel great holiday all around.

The good : Rooms were clean Staff were good 👍 Food was good and you could always find something to eat . There was some free activities, aqua aerobics we found 😂 The space on the balcony was good 👍 Snack bar you could get drinks or limited snacks . The bad : Swimming pools were cold 🥶 Couldn’t find where activities were ! Sometimes the dining room was chaos 🤷‍♀️😂 The sunbeds were hard ! Really uncomfortable 😳 so you really didn’t want to lounge round pool 🏊 There was no lifts to get down to main pool 🏊 so was really hard if you had any disability ! The children’s area you paid 6 euros to go on each activity , which you would have thought they could have included ! I mean a bouncy castle ? There was I think 5 activities so each child would be 30 euros each night up there ! As each activity had a time limit !

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the food was excellent, always fresh superb quality. A little bit repetitive at times but plenty of choice and most of it is cooked in front of you. The hotel was spotless. The pools are amazing. Great cocktail menu.

Absolutely spotless. I’m coming from a hotel background. Have been working in Hospitality industry for over 15 years and we have traveled quite a fair bit. Came here for 10 nights with my family (2 small kids) and I’m yet to find something negative to say. The only negative part is that we are leaving tomorrow! Something that’s going to stay in my mind about this place is the perfect upkeep of the property and cleanliness! Thank you! PS: we have been to Be Live Collection in Dominican Republic. It was nice, but this resort is better overall. Congrats to the General Manager of the property and the staff!
Response from Property: Dear Alexzander Y, Thank you for your great review, which we were delighted to read! We will pass on your compliments to our General Manager, which is the best motivation we can offer! We are looking to your soon return visit. Sincerely, Filipa Dias

We went to Ukino at the end of October as a family of 4 with the kids age 11 and 9. We were really impressed with very attentive and warm staff and very clean facilities. The food was a reasonable selection - it wasn't huge but we were staying at the end of season. It was more than enough for non-fussy eaters for our 5 night stay. The kids club activities were great, it isn't run throughout the day like hotels we've stayed at before but again, maybe that was due to end of season. Evening entertainment was reasonable but very late, by the time the kids, my youngest in particular, had adjusted her routine to staying up that late we were going back to the apartment - so we didn't see most of the shows. I liked the no smoking policy although some guests didn't respect that and didn't seem to be challenged. Slides were fun, pools were so cold I only jumped in once, kids stuck to the splash pool. Loved the little land train, and the boat trips from Albufeira a definite recommendation - getting an Uber quick and easy with the app.

This hotel is really clean. You couldn't fault it but what really let's it down is it's access for anyone who cannot walk far. There are ramps and stairs to get down to the two of the pools but the one's with slides and bits for children to play on are down ramps and stairs again. No lift to the bottom to get down there. The main entertainment wasn't until 10:00pm and was down where these pools were. Again no access if you had problems walking. Also, some of the entertainment wasn't really for children to watch as one had a man supposed to be part of an acrobat act doing what would be considered as a drag act but with really scanty clothes and movements not appropriate for youngsters to watch. Not doing any acrobatics at all. The main town is not close but you can get a handy train outside the hotel to the local town but need to get there either really early or go later as it gets packed. The food was hit and miss and we had a free pass to the Asain restaurant but should have passed on it. We found it terrible. To go to the steak house you had to pay for it. Surprise. Surprise...

Me my wife and 2 children aged 11 and 12 have just come back from a 4 night break here . First the reception guy couldn’t have been any nicer on first arrival . When I said I’m checking in he said first things first , how was your trip? . Absolutely lovely guy as were all the staff we encountered . Our side view double room was spotless . The beds were comfy as was the kids sofa bed. Onto the food . Overall we all thought the food was really good . A lot of variety and both my kids were going up for 2nd and third plates . The staff again were amazing and very polite . The British people on here complaining about the food must be used to chicken nuggets and other junk food. My youngest is the pickiest eater imaginable and she loved the food . She tried all sorts of food including paella and the different veg on offer and lived most of it . The snack bar does do basic burgers and hot dogs if that’s your thing but we’re in Portugal not the uk so we were more than happy with the food . The only thing I would say would maybe increase vegan options ? My wife can’t have dairy and although there was enough dairy free options she was quite limited in what she could have . Maybe a vegan pizza, or 1 or 2 vegan desserts and some oat milk would have been great. Soya milk is available at breakfast but is the most inferior of milk alternatives so a choice would have been nice . Now the entertainment . Just a big thankyou to all the entertainment/animation team.We enjoyed all the night time entertainment . The Portuguese dance show was great as were the traditional costumes . The tunnel of terror was brilliant ! Halloween is quite a big thing in our house and this was better than any of us expected . There was a delay on us entering but the young French lad was so polite and apologetic and kept telling us they want to get it right and it has to be safe . All 4 of us were absolutely buzzing when we came out of the tunnel . You could see the work and effort that had gone into this. Speaking of work and effort , the final Halloween show. Wow ! Absolutely brilliant . I can’t imagine the effort end work that went into this . The young French girl with blonde who created it was in tears at the end which showed how much it meant . My wife turned to me and said “I knew she’d have had something to do with it “ all the animation team were amazing but this girl was non stop throughout the entertainment , so a special thankyou to her . The entertainment is not aimed at the French . It’s done in 4 languages English, french , Portuguese and Spanish . I think the British people complaining should stick with places like Benidorm . In fact the worst parts of our break was British kids running wild whilst their “parents” were getting to drunk to care . Older French people at the buffet not understanding how to que was also annoying but in no way the fault of the hotel . Thanks again to the hotel and all the staff we encountered ! Ashley ,room 1432

Just about to head home after a week here as a family of 3. An honest, constructive review - in summary, a clean, but basic hotel, food and room noise letting it down, 3 star at best. Read on for details. When you walk into the hotel, it looks lovely, the lobby is spacious and there are lots of places to sit and relax. It is quite a big hotel, so be prepared to get your steps in. The room - this was one of the biggest let downs. The room itself was fine; clean and comfortable enough although my husband didn’t sleep well all week. It was 2 single beds pushed together and a sofa bed for my daughter. The walls however, paper thin. A lot of the time I felt like the neighbours were actually in our room it was so loud. You could hear drawers opening and closing and plugs being put into sockets, amongst chatter and stomping. The food - OK at best, I’m looking forward to going home to a bit of variety as there just wasn’t any at any meal time, and some of the meat looked inedible and although I mostly stuck to vegetarian options as I felt it was safer, I did trial some of the more appetising looking meat on some of the days and it was fine. Chips were actually lovely though! The pools - these were cold, and a lot of the children were shivering blue (including mine) but everyone looked like they were having a nice time anyway, and you soon got used to it. Probably be very refreshing in the heat of summer. Tip: if you want a quieter pool experience, choose the top pool near the gardens. If you have children beware, this one is a little deeper. My daughter used the kids club one of the days but wasn’t particularly fussed to go again. We didn’t sample the entertainment really as we were quite tired come the evenings, we popped down one night and the pre-show dancing was questionable. Small arcade on site, very worn and some of the machines broken or not switched on. Finally, although there was a programme of activities advertised throughout the hotel, you wouldn’t know as the animation team just didn’t have any presence. Places we have stayed before you have the team walking round announcing something was about to start and they would try to get people involved.

First of all the rooms, booked a double room that sleeps a maximum of 3 people, large room but we were expecting 3 beds; I’ve never stayed in a 4* hotel where the child’s bed is a unstable fold up camp bed before. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room, upon hiring the kettle from reception it was obvious why. The reason being there is no plugs to have a kettle in the room. The only spare plugs are under the bedside tables very low to the floor so not ideal for elderly unless you’re comfortable crawling around on your hands and knees to plug anything in. The fridge barely gets cold I wouldn’t even class it as a fridge. The room is riddled with ants so don’t leave any food or drink unattended unless you want a mouth full of ants. We also went down to reception to ask about the heating as staying during October the room does get very cold in the night, to be told they don’t allow any heating in the room to be turned on until November, the reception offered us covers to accommodate despite explaining that the room was freezing cold. Not exactly what you want to hear when you’ve paid a lot of money for your holiday to have to lay in a cold room. The food! The food is okay, but not 4* by a long shot. not a lot of variety for an all inclusive hotel and the queues at meal times, considering we came off season are ridiculous. Couldn’t imagine the wait times if we came in the summer. We also rang up before hand to ask if they could cater for my son as he has celiac disease and can’t eat gluten and were reassured that wouldn’t be a problem. When asking what the gluten free options that could be prepared for him were, we were told spaghetti. Just spaghetti. Which came out from the kitchen uncooked and obviously inedible. Cant say a lot about the entertainment as we didn’t get chance to see any. If you arrive to the entertainment which is 8 till midnight any later than 8:30 you’re not going to get a seat. Again this is off season. Very little seating considering they know how many guests are staying and there is nothing around the hotel in walking distance to entertain.
Response from Property: Dear KellyhY1648BC, We would like to thank you for taking the time to send us your comments about your stay at our hotel. As we are deeply committed to achieving total guest satisfaction, your opinion is of the utmost importance to us.  We assure you that throughout our company, we are committed to providing quality service beyond expectations of our guests.  We are sorry to hear that you were not expecting to have a roller bed as an extra bed, but if the extra bed for the child was not suitable, you should have informed our reception team, and they would request to change the extra bed. The room does have plugs under the bedsides but also next to the TV. We do not have in-room coffee facilities as we are an all-inclusive 24/7, and the guest can come to our snack bar to eat or drink. The room has a minibar and not a fridge, but when our guests need a fridge, we do have it in our reception that is suitable for our guests. Regarding the temperature of the air conditioner, it was not possible to turn it for you to hot air because it's a central air system, which means that it is not individual. Therefore, we have provided blankets as well, and we were able to provide you with a fan heater. Concerning the queues in the restaurant is a personal choice from our guests, as we have two main restaurant buffets that work at the same time and have the same food, so there's no need for queuing.  We do our best to provide to our guests the essentials concerning their allergies, but we do not have a buffet due to the risk of cross-contamination as well. In our kitchen, we are not able to guarantee that there's no cross-contamination. We are sorry that the experience in our units did not meet your expectations and we offer our sincere apologies for any inconvenience. We hope that this would not deter you from returning, we look forward to the chance of welcoming you back to our hotel again in the near future. Sincerely, Filipa Dias - Guest Service
