Turiquintas

We booked a week's Half Board holiday at Turiquintas with Loveholidays. We're a family of 5 with 3 teenages and we like to be in the same space rather than having people in seperate rooms. We booked a 2 bed villa at Turiquintas. We had a terrific time there. The apartment was huge and spotlessly clean. There were two bathrooms and a well-fitted kitchen (which we didnt use much) but the standard of the fit out was very high - marble floors and a large living room / dining room space all on two floors with balconeys on both floors. The apartment was over the road but only 2-3 minutes walk from reception. We had most of our meals there. The breakfasts were continental - bread, croissants, cheese, ham, coffee and eggs and for the evening meals there was a choice of fish (or other meat) as well as Pizzas and Omelettes. The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area was very relaxing. Most of the time there were only 4 to 5 families so there were plenty of sun loungers. The pool was very clean and we had one enjoyable morning watching the tree surgeon trimming the palm trees, which are very tall. The area is also relaxing and quiet. There is a small beach about 15 minutes walk away and a large supermarket about 10 minutes up the hill. The staff at the hotel helped to organise a couple of trips but the Bolt service was excellent and we rarely had to wait more than 5 minutes for a ride, even for the 5 of us. We managed a few trips and there highlights were Cape St Vincent, Aquaworld, and the Fatacil trade fair in Lagoa. A very enjoyable holiday and we’d stay at Turiquintas Hotel again if we are in the Algarve again.

Just finished a wk relaxing at one of there apartments and have to say we loved our time there. Spacious apartment equipped with everything we needed.Staff and owner were fantastic and we are already gonna book again for next year..2 great pools to relax in as well

Lovely hotel, our apartment was huge with basic Portuguese decor, kitchen had everything in even a coffee maker. Bathroom could do with a bit of a revamp as dated but perfectly usable and always hot water, overall it was a fab base. The area was great and was walking distance from lots of amazing coves and beaches, there were also some lovely bars and restaurants including a large supermarket less than a 10 minute walk away. The pool area was great, peaceful with plenty of sun loungers and a good bar and restaurant, very friendly helpful owner and staff. The courtesy shower and changing area does need repair and updating but this is minimal. Would definitely stay here again, perfect base with everything you could possibly need.

We were very pleased with our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with full kitchen, lounge/diner, balcony and roof terrace. What's not to like? We also had a beautiful bougainvillea outside. A change of sheets would have been nice, but not really a problem for just a week. The pool area is spacious with plenty of sunbeds and shade under the trees, but no parasols, and the pool is cold. This did not stop my friend doing her daily exercise, but too chilly for me. Unfortunately the back gate to the pool area was locked, so we had to take the longer route and down a steep flight of steps to access the pool. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The negatives of the property are the location (a big problem), and lack of Wifi (an inconvenience) anywhere other than by the pool. The property is advertised as in Armacao de Pera, but is in fact in Alporchinos. The mini market on site was not open, but there is a large supermarket 5 or so minutes up the road and about 7/8 restaurants a bit further on (3 of which are Indian!). The beaches are a good 15/20/25 minutes walk - downhill on the way and therefore uphill on the way back. The main beach at A de P is long, sandy and very busy, but accessible. Of the other 2 coves - Redonda is virtually inaccessible to anyone with walking difficulties and Senhora da Rocha is busy, because boat trips go from there and there is also a restaurant. It is also not very big. We had a boat trip in a traditional Portuguese fishing boat, which was good apart from the dozens of kyakers and a constant stream of small boats also visiting the caves and bays. Apart from these boat trips there doesn't seem much else to do unless you want to hike along the cliffs.
