Jupiter Marina Hotel - Couples & Spa Reviews

This hotel is very recent. Beautiful, elegant and well-equipped in terms of services. What doesn't strike us as normal, however, is the lack of little touches for a hotel in this category. No shampoo, no q-tips, just the same gel for washing hands and in the shower. No shower cap. An empty fridge bar. We appreciate the coffee machine and the bottle of water, but one normal coffee capsule and 3 decaffeinated coffee capsules... not logical... We asked for a room with a bath when we booked (we were "upgraded" without any request on our part, on a "marina" view, but with a shower. As we are not very nice customers, we didn't say anything. The bedding is good. The pillows are quite thick, which can be uncomfortable for people with sensitive necks. 3 cushions are available, but they are all very dense. The road is very noisy, subject to a few car rodeos at night. I've heard that the rooftop is noisy in November, but fortunately this is not the case. The staff are friendly and respond to requests. The breakfast buffet is very comprehensive, but for the evening menu, this type of buffet seems less attractive, but will surely please some people. The spa is very good, at 12.5 euros for one hour (equipped swimming pool, sauna, hammam, etc.). There is a car park at the hotel for 6 euros a night, but free parking is available 200m from the hotel by the beach. All in all, then, this is a fine hotel with a lot of potential, but some details clearly need to be reviewed to make it really nice.

Great experience so far, making me decide to extend for a further 2 nights. Some of the reception staff should take their game to another level by learning from the team at the restaurant. Irina is a true host that makes you feel truly welcome. Odette and Carlos have been great, too, and I'm sorry for forgetting some other names from the FB team, but everyone has been kind, welcoming, and made my stay unforgettable. Thank you!

The hotel is located next to a very busy and noisy road and the premium paid for a river view room was laughable as the view could only be seen if you went out on to the balcony, which was so noisy it wasn’t enjoyable. The hotel is a flawed concept, in the wrong location for a relaxing holiday and left me feeling disappointed and ripped off for the premium paid. The hotel was clean, the rooms basic but acceptable, breakfast was decent but overcrowded after 8.30am and the minibus service is effective but needs to run from an earlier time. But ultimately there isn’t anything special to warrant the extra paid to stay here. Reflecting on the holiday a week on, we enjoyed the area but not the hotel.

Great stay with my husband stayed for 9 nights was my husbands birthday while there and he received a birthday card on the day with 2 free cocktails was a nice surprise.Beds really comfy breakfast was fab great selection.15 min walk to priai de rocha at slow pace.4 euro back up to hotel by taxi or free shuttle during the day

Beautiful hotel, views out to the river and marina are fabulous. Great rooftop infinity pool and comfortable sun beds. Breakfast had great selection of food and drinks and rooftop bar snacks were delicious. Portimão is on the doorstep but if you want a bit more option then Praia da rocha is 10 min walk away or there is a shuttle bus every hour that takes you to the sister hotel. Alvor is well worth a visit, costs 10 euro in a taxi, has great selection of restaurants and bars. All in all had a great holiday.

Amazing location , fantastic staff and beautiful hotel . The food was gorgeous and super comfy beds. The hotel was immaculate and had such a nice atmosphere. The spa experience was so relaxing and well worth booking a treatment while your there.

Everything was excellent. We found the hotel walking around and booked it for our last night in Porimao. Live music every evening, delicious food, cold cocktails and pool- everything was perfect :) Nice, clean and beautiful rooms, balcony.

The Jupiter Marina hotel is a great place to stay, if you walk in one direction you get to Portimao and the old town and shopping, if you go the other way you get to the beach at Praia da Rocha. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and there was a good balcony. We were on the ground floor so we didn't have a view, but the views from the upper floors were great. The rooftop pool was really good, an infinity pool, it felt quite luxurious. The bar is also on the rooftop - fabulous views across the Arade River to Ferragudo. The bar was great with a good range of food and drinks. The staff were friendly and professional. The buffet breakfast is excellent with a great range of food - and freshly squeezed orange juice. Food in the restaurant was also impressive, we were staying on a half board basis, and the menu changed every evening. The food was well cooked and well presented. The staff were excellent. We had an amazing time at the Jupiter Marina hotel and we're looking forward to going back again.

Lovely modern hotel in a great location. Rooms could be better equipped by adding another chair, and smart TV. Bathroom excellent. Road noise only intrusive when door is open. Balconies could do with more comfortable furniture. Hotel facilities, didn't use spa etc, but rooftop pool and bar are exceptional. Staff were heat. Breakfast had a vast choice and always a good start to the day.

Pillows are quite hard. Hotel was clean and staff were brilliant. Did not like the little stones around the sunbeds as they were uncomfortable. Seagulls in the pool was also off putting - they dropped dead fish into the pool. Staff were brilliant, super friendly and efficient.

We stayed at this hotel for a week to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel was stylish and cozy. The reception is available 24/7 so as the free coffee/tea station which was a great idea. The room was of a decent size and space, comfortable bed, rain shower was a plus so as the bidet spray. The buffet breakfast was great with wide selection of dishes, fruit section, pastries and also a freshly squeezed orange juice station. The rooftop area consisted of infinity pool and food/bar area. We really had an amazing time and this experience wouldn’t be possible with all the staff we encountered during our stay. The most amazing team at the rooftop bar, (Diego, Rebecca, Andre, Eduardo, Jorge and Rui) Restaurant (Irina, Camilla, Rodrigo) our Housekeeping attendant (Cinta)… didn’t catch all the names but everyone really made our stay worthwhile. Thank you and we look forward to returning soon.

This is a lovely hotel in a brilliant location. The rooftop pool and bar are excellent and the staff are lovely and attentive. The spa is great too with the option of just using the aqua circuit if you want. The rooms were decorated really nicely and were clean and comfortable. The daily breakfast is fantastic. We had such a lovely stay and would definitely come back if we get the chance.

We had originally booked the Hotel Marina Rio hotel in Lagos, but the hotel inexpertly cancelled our reservation after we missed their two emails asking for payment (we could not pay in advance, it had to be at their convivence.) Thus we needed to rebook a hotel on very short notice. We decided on this lovely, full service hotel in Portimao and couldn't be happier with our decision. Our room was upgraded, we had excellent service and a delicious breakfast included. There is a gorgeous pool on the roof and a rooftop cafe with excellent, inexpensive cafe food. Views are delightful. Highly recommended.

Our second visit to Jupiter Marina and we loved it just as much as the first time. The location, midway between the beach and the old town, really suits us. The hotel is superb. The staff are lovely and the breakfasts are excellent. We will certainly return.
