The accommodation was excellent, and our room was very clean, tidy, and spacious. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The food was varied and delicious, fully meeting our expectations. We would especially like to praise both the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, as well as the overall range of facilities for relaxation and enjoyment. Our only minor suggestion is that the outdoor pool could benefit from a little more maintenance to make it even more enjoyable for guests. The only significant drawback during our stay was the parking fee. We believe that the price of €25 per day is too high for hotel guests. It would be much more reasonable if parking were free or at least offered at a significantly reduced rate for guests staying at the hotel. Great location and facilities. Much cheaper than staying in the main hotel and you get all of the benefits of the main hotels facilities. Amazing breakfast, superb swimming pools, indoor and outdoor. Rooms were clean and well looked after.

Very good. Nice, large clean room. Decent room facilities. The indoor pool is great although all pools in Portoroz have sea water and I found it hard to swim in it. The large outdoor pool advertised is across the road and was a pool for families and kids. We were half board, the food served in the Grand Metropolitan hotel - just a minute to walk between. My husband loved the food - for me as a vegetarian the evening food wasn’t so good. Very limited and very little choice. Breakfast was great though. As Slovenia has very good tap water (and access to water a right in their constitution) there should have been a water tap accessible when sitting outside in the sun. A small bottle of still at the evening meal was € 5.5 Minor issue that we couldn’t turn the aircon off with the windows closed. Portoroz is lovely - very uncommercialised. Not many restaurants and so I’m glad we were half board even though there was little choice for me.

I booked a room with a sea view, and during our late check-in we were welcomed by a beautiful sunset. The room was a little dated, but clean, cozy, and comfortable. The small balcony is a pleasant place to sit and relax; however, to truly enjoy the view, I would recommend staying on the 5th floor or higher, as otherwise Hotel Metropol blocks part of the view. I would especially like to highlight the breakfast. The selection is huge and will satisfy even the most demanding eaters — including my daughter. The only thing that bothered me was the hotel’s attitude toward smokers. Unfortunately, breakfast on the terrace cannot really be enjoyed because people smoke outside. Does this really have to be allowed?

Better use your money elswere. The rooms were not cleaned properly, they never replaced the shower gel or shampoo that was used. At breakfast or dinner always something went wrong od they run out of something or a machine didn't work. Fitness is a room with 2 machines. And the spa they clean without cleaners, just water and the same cloth for everything. I don't even wanna think about the fungus and bacteria all around.. and yes.. the hotel and anexxe is falling apart slowly. Also the personell looks (with 2 exceptions I met) like they don't care about anything..
