I had been looking forward for an excuse to try the new Hilton affiliated hotel in Portrush since it opened during the summer. As a Hilton diamond member for more than 10 years, I’m lucky to experience Hilton hotels very regularly across the world, but my goodness what a pleasure it was to stay here for a night while meeting friends for a few drinks. Remembering what was there before, arriving into the reception area was like entering a different planet! Check in was seamless, and my diamond status was recognised with an upgrade to a deluxe room, and when I arrived in my beautifully appointed room, there was a lovely bottle of Merlot to greet me! Thank you! The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was stunning with high end fittings. One of the reasons I stay with Hilton is their mattresses and pillows - the best ever, and no different here. Before hitting the town I had a pint of Guinness in the heritage cocktail bar - very comfortable bar, great service, a nice pint! I also enjoyed a cocktail at the of the night, again high end service! The highlight of the stay was breakfast! Such a lovely room, but where was the buffet?! There wasn’t one.. there was an al a carte menu! Wow! Game changer! My full Irish was fab, and both the host and chef were friendly and charming! Looks like I’ll have a need to be in Portrush a few times more this year, but no longer a hardship now the Marcus has arrived!

I had a fantastic experience at The Marcus! We went for dinner & the food was incredibly fresh and full of flavor—every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The cocktails were equally impressive—creative, well-balanced, and absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the entire visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for a great dining experience!

It was a joy revisit an old haunt and find it reborn. staff, surroundings and food all outstanding. We would like to congratulate Chloe and Amy for looking after us so well- recommending dishes, telling us all about the new hotel facilities and making us feel special- can’t wait to come back soon!

We have had the need to spend several nights in Portrush in recent months, and will be again into 2026. The ‘offering’ created by the Marcus has transformed our experience of the entire area. The investment is clear to see, and this hotel will help the continued regeneration of the town, indeed accelerate it. Hospitality in this region is key, and having a team of people who understand how to create an incredible customer experience will cause success. We have engaged with many of the Team during our stays, at all levels - clearly Heather is very driven, and a great advocate of the Hilton brand. The reception team are most charming, and we’ve had fabulous service from a number of the food and beverage Team, such as Chloe and Adam. But to reiterate, to a person the people make this place, but we didn’t get all their names for a shout out. We have eaten in the bar, had cocktails as well - a very comfortable environment. Breakfast in the restaurant is lovely - depending on the how busy the hotel is this can be buffet or ordered fresh- regardless it’s excellent. We’ve been Hilton diamond members for more than 10 years, and this hotel genuinely recognised our loyalty with free upgrades each stay. We look forward to returning again soon!

1. Checking in yesterday the young man on reception was by himself and trying to cope with booking in new arrivals and answering the phone, he did an excellent job. 2. Room small, but every thing needed for an overnight stay - bed very comfortable, quiet and had a great nights sleep. 3. Made the mistake of going for lunch in the cocktail - service non-existent - had to go to the bar to order drinks and food - once the food arrived the server went to get us cutlery and never returned. Staff appeared to be young and inexperienced. 4. Evening totally different staff - evening cocktail lovely. 5. Breakfast - buffet was OK; no coffee cups by the self-service coffee machines and they were not being monitored by staff - resulting in one running out of milk etc. 6. Overall poor service provided by the hotel in the bar and restaurant - however would return for the good nights sleep.

We stayed as a group of 7 and had a great time. The rooms were lovely and we had a meal at the restaurant. I’ve seen some complaints about this only serving Asian cuisine but we couldn’t fault the meal and with a person who has a nut allergy in the party it was great to hear they don’t have any nuts in the kitchen. The bar does sell more traditional food if that is what you’re looking for.

We stayed at the Marcus in November. It is a very accommodating hotel, thoughtfully designed to a very high standard. The décor is very pleasing to the eye and themed to spark interest and conversation. The staff are very personable, engaging and helpful. We encountered Amy and Rachel (at different times during our stay) at reception, who were both pleasant and welcoming. I was surprised but pleased by the additional security (key pass) to access the hotel’s accommodation area. The room was lovely, well-presented and very clean. I loved the rainfall shower. As we only stayed the one night, we didn’t encounter the cleaning staff, but they are doing a great job. We had the opportunity to enjoy an evening meal and breakfast, and the food was delicious. I wasn’t sure when I booked about the “Asian Fusion” menu on the North Coast, but it was really tasty. The menu was explained very well (flavours, level of heat, spicy etc), which put my wife at ease, as she can be a little plain in her choice of food. Thank you, Rachel, Evelyn and Andrew, for looking after us during our evening meal and making it a delightful experience. For breakfast, Rup took us to our table. Again, very engaging and personable, which comes across as very genuine. Our engagement with the staff was of a very high standard, and the hotel layout, design and theme were very easy on the eye. I have one regret; we didn’t stay for longer. Next time we will.
