Reviews of Hotel At the Golden Scissors

We went to U Zlatych Nuzek for a family lunch. The location in the Kampa region makes it attractive and convenient. The atmosphere is superficial and unfriendly, based on the behaviour and treatment of staff, who were unpleasant, unhelpful and were mocking customers. My family speaks English but I speak Czech which the staff did not know, and their comments to each other in Czech were rude/disrespectful of customers. The value (drinks/food) is not great - there are so many friendly restaurants and pubs in Prague; I would not recommend wasting your money and time in this one.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay in this lovely hotel. The reception staff were amazing and very helpful and any other staff we bumped into always had a smile and a good morning for us. The location is perfect being just by the bridge, it was very peaceful at night so we got a good nights sleep on both nights but close enough to walk anywhere we wanted. The breakfast was more than adequate ( my partner did say he would have liked a dinner plate rather than side plate ) but we always had a lovely breakfast before heading out for the day. Our room was lovely and most importantly comfortable and WARM which was needed after a long day out in the cold. We would recommend this hotel

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel and loved it. Although a small hotel, it is located in the center of Prague and easy to reach. The room was cozy and had a nice view, plus a lovely bathroom. The food was nice and better than most restaurants out there. The staff was helpful and assisted us with all our needs. We enjoyed the more peaceful nights there and would love to come back.

What a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Hotel room was stunning with a view of the Charles Bridge. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. We had to leave before breakfast on the last day and the hotel made us up 4 pack lunches which were gratefully received. Have already recommended this hotel to family and friends. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we will be back.

Don’t be fooled by the promise of a “view” of the Carl Bridge — the Junior Suite with View has only small attic-style windows, so there’s virtually no view at all. The room layout is also disappointing. There’s no separation between the bedroom and the bathroom — the shower is completely open. If you're not comfortable showering in full view of your companion, this setup will be frustrating. At €200 per night, the experience falls far short of expectations. Worst of all was the staff attitude: not a single smile during our stay. On the contrary, we constantly felt like we were inconveniencing them just by being there.

Fantastic stay in Prague. The location of the hotel was second to none. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food and cleanliness first rate. Would definitely stay here again. Lookily weather was clear and cold. What a lovely place to visit.

It was our third time in this hotel and still was an amazing experience. Rooms, an atmosphere, location and very good restaurant. And of course so nice and helpful staff. Hotels transport service from the airport is also high-level. Could't imagine stay in any other hotel in Prague.

We have stayed in this hotel 3 times and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else in Prague. It is in the perfect location to explore, The rooms are so clean/well equipped and beautifully decorated with amazing views of the square and Charles Bridge. All of the staff are so friendly and accommodating and the breakfast buffet is plentiful with a large variety of different foods. Customer service was outstanding from all staff and Michal went over & above by supplying us with a map, pointing out areas of interest and arranging taxis to and from the airport . What a great guy. We stayed over the Christmas period and it was wonderful. The restaurant within the hotel serves really good food at great prices.Thank you all so much x

Charming little place in a lovely location just off the Charles Bridge. Very clean,lovely and warm and the food in the restaurant was very good (10% discount for guests). All the staff we encountered were wonderful…would highly recommend

Had the pleasure of spending six nights at this excellent small hotel. Very pleasant and helpful staff beginning with arranging car from the airport right through to checkout and storing luggage until we were ready to leave Prague. Incredible location on Kampa Island right at Charles Bridge. Easy access to Lesser Town and Old Town. We found the Charles Bridge View suite very comfortable - quiet, yet with view of activity on the bridge. Nice breakfast with some daily variation. I could not recommend this hotel more highly.

We visited your restaurant yesterday and were very pleasantly surprised, the food was average, but the staff was very friendly, the bartender also advised us on accommodation, thank you very much and we will be happy to come back!!!!!!!!!

This is a lovely, small hotel in a beautiful square just next to the Charles Bridge. We had room 7 with 2 adults and 2 teenage children. We only stayed one night but the room was great, the sofa bed was comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was lovely! Amazing pastries and doughnuts. One piece of advice, do not get a taxi from the station, we were ripped off by the taxi who charged us €30 for the trip (4 people plus bags) when it should have been €21. The hotel will order a taxi for you, or use Uber or Bolt.

Very nice hotel in the wonderful little square of Kampa, 10 meters from Charles Bridge. Beautiful, large, very bright room, with a small balcony overlooking the small square. Super comfortable bed! Breakfast well-stocked. Highly recommended for those who want to stay in a very central area but at the same time not too crowded. Good value for money.

The hotel with the location, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff par excellence in Prague. Next to the Charles Bridge and next to the Stare Mesto, but also next to the castle, Mala Strana (the Jonh Lenon wall is behind the hotel). Quiet and impeccable place!
