B&B la Barbera

Just an amazing family run B&B. Our amazing room and terrace, the breakfasts each day that we got to select the day prior. We had an early departure our last day and they packed us a to go bag so we wouldn't miss our last breakfast. The location is awesome to see Praiano, Path of the Gods and easy access to Positano and other Amalfi coast cities. Lots of stairs in the town so this isn't for mobility challenged folks if you want to explore a bit. Thank you Francesco, Roberto, Anna and team. We will be back!

We had an excellent stay at La Barbera. Everything was wonderful, from the beautiful view in our room, to Silvia who was very gracious. She arranged transportation for us, and even offered to make our plans more efficient and have a taxi pick up our luggage and pick us up somewhere in town. I was traveling with an Israeli friend during a time when he was quite uneasy about showing an Israeli passport and she welcomed him warmly and told him about her positive experiences with Israelis. The breakfast was wonderful as well. 10/10 recommend, thank you Silvia!!

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at La Barbera, we also stayed here in April. This is our eight stay I believe and quite simply, since finding La Barbera, we wouldn’t stay anywhere else on the Amalfi Coast. From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel like family. The entire team is incredibly warm and caring, and they go above and beyond to make sure you have the most wonderful stay. The property is beautiful. Every detail has been so thoughtfully considered and curated, the rooms are gorgeous, and the views are truly out of this world. Breakfast is another highlight - absolutely exceptional and something we look forward to every time we return. The place is SPOTLESS - you won't find a better maintained place in the region. What we also love is how relaxing it is to stay here. There are days when we haven’t wanted to leave at all (and haven't - lounging on the terrace and our hot tub). And when we do venture out, the team always have the best recommendations for local restaurants, excursions and experiences, and seem to know exactly the right people in the area to make everything effortless. Even after so many stays, La Barbera somehow continues to exceed our expectations every single time. It is a very special place, made even more special by the people who run it. A huge thank you to the whole team for welcoming us back so warmly once again and for always taking such wonderful care of us. We already can’t wait to return next year. We couldn’t recommend La Barbera more highly to anyone looking for a beautiful, intimate place to stay on the Amalfi Coast. We previously used to stay in Positano but the location of La Barbera is excellent - between Positano and Amalfi, more peaceful and with direct access to the Path of the Gods.

Everything at La Barbera was excellent for our five nights in Praiano in the heat of summer. Away from the madness of Amalfi and Positano but with better views, this pocket of Praiano is quiet and beautiful with a stunning outlook out to sea and over to Positano from the room and its massive patio. The whole La Barbera team were awesome and very attentive always on hand to provide us recommendations either in person or over WhatsApp on restaurants, walks, swims or calling on our behalf for reservations through to serving us up a tremendous breakfast each morning over looking Positano in the distance. Filling out our breakfast form each day was always fun, anticipating what cake would be unveiled the next morning. The house is easily accessible in a car or scooter with parking spaces for guests, which is also rare for this part of the world. All in all a five star stay and would recommend La Barbera to anyone, especially couples looking for a classy spot to stay on the Amalfi coast that is close enough to everything but away from the tourist crowds. Also their Gelato spot in town is officially the best ice cream on the coast. We will be back.

We had the most wonderful stay at La Barbera during our honeymoon. From the moment we booked, the staff went above and beyond to make our experience seamless and memorable. Before we arrived, they helped arrange transportation, and once we checked in, Silvia provided us with a personalized map of Praiano filled with fantastic recommendations. Roberto, Silvia, and Francesco were all incredibly kind and attentive, helping with reservations and making sure we were well taken care of throughout our stay. The breakfast each morning was delicious (especially the fresh tomatoes and mozzarella), and they were especially thoughtful in providing plenty of gluten-free options for me, as well as a to-go breakfast when we had an early departure. We truly felt so welcomed and cared for during our stay. We highly recommend La Barbera to anyone visiting the Amalfi Coast—it was the perfect place for our honeymoon!

We spent a few wonderful days in Praiano during our honeymoon and absolutely loved our stay here. The room was beautiful and full of charm, with incredible views that made it hard to leave. But what really stood out was the service—the staff was so warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Breakfast each morning was also a perfect touch. We had an amazing experience and would happily stay here again if we return to Praiano!

Roberto and Francesco are genuinely passionate about what they have created and are wonderfully present and involved. Their warmth and sincerity shine through in every interaction. Silvia and the rest of the team were equally outstanding, making us feel welcomed, cared for, and completely at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast deserves special mention. It was, quite simply, one of the best breakfasts we have ever had while travelling. Fresh, abundant, thoughtfully prepared, and far superior to many lavish five-star hotel buffets we’ve experienced. Our room was charming, comfortable, immaculately maintained, and equipped with everything we needed. But the real highlight was the terrace. It felt like having our own private corner of Amalfi paradise—a peaceful retreat where we could unwind and take in the beauty of the coastline. Praiano itself is the perfect base for exploring the Amalfi Coast. It offers a welcome escape from the crowds while remaining ideally located for visiting Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, and beyond. After a hot summer day of sightseeing, returning to La Barbera genuinely felt like coming home. If you’re looking for authentic hospitality, unforgettable views, and a place that combines the comforts of luxury with the warmth of family, La Barbera is truly exceptional. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

Our stay at La Barbera was incredible! The rooms were ultra clean and beautiful, the views stunning and the breakfasts delicious. The thing that really stood this hotel apart from others that we have stayed at was the people, and the 5 star service. Francisco, Roberto, Silvia, Anna and Anna are such a warm, welcoming and professional team. Nothing is too much trouble for this fabulous fivesome- they made our holiday in Praiano the best! If you want great views, a clean and very comfortable hotel, fantastic breakfast, walking access to great restaurants, but more importantly to feel the warmth of a family and a very personal touch, this is the place. We would highly recommend this hotel for a luxury, relaxing and peaceful experience.
