The Zhuhai Dong'ao Island Marriott Resort is located on the bay at the northern end of Dong'ao Island in Zhuhai. It is backed by mountains and facing the sea, bordered by Xiaozhu Bay to the west, Dazhu Bay to the east, and Honeymoon Pavilion to the south. Embracing the gentlest sea area on the north bank of Dong'ao Island, it is a natural resting place that embraces nature, aiming to lead guests to enjoy the present, appreciate the spectacular and beautiful natural scenery, and create a luxurious experience that revitalizes the body and mind. The hotel design incorporates the culture of Zhuhai fishermen and the concept of waterfalls in the rocks, creating the iconic building of the visual center of Dong'ao Island - Dong'ao Diamond, which blends with the natural landscape like a natural mansion standing on an island. The hotel has a sea view guest room with an area of 45-439 square meters and three unique restaurants; A banquet event venue of 1883 square meters, including an 800 square meter banquet hall and a 450 square meter outdoor lawn, will add infinite fun to your gathering whether it is hosting a romantic wedding or an inspiration meeting. You can immerse yourself in the peaceful atmosphere of a spa center, or sweat in a gym equipped with professional fitness equipment; Experience the wonderful parent-child time with the children in the children's club, or enjoy the beautiful scenery of the sea and sky while swimming in the endless outdoor pool.
"We happened to arrive during a rain spell, and I thought we'd be cooped up in the room for three days. To my pleasant surprise, though, the very next day was gloriously sunny! What luck!
The room itself was decent enough. My only minor complaint was the infrared sensor, which frequently turned off the lights automatically – a bit annoying. We requested a dehumidifier from room service, which quickly sorted out the humidity issue. Our room offered an expansive view of the endless ocean.
The food, however, was a bit of a letdown – quite bland, to be honest, haha. I do hope the restaurant considers adding more local specialties to their menu.
Our children absolutely loved the kids' club and the pool; they had so much fun they didn't want to leave! I heard that the Haitao area isn't fully developed yet. Hopefully, it will be complete by our next visit.
Unfortunately, a typhoon had passed through two days before our arrival, washing a lot of trash ashore. It hadn't been fully cleared yet, and there were sharp objects like broken glass, so I'd strongly advise both kids and adults to wear shoes if they plan to walk on the beach.
Definitely take the island tour if you get the chance! Time truly felt like it stood still there. I'm sure a week-long stay here would be utterly blissful.
Finally, a huge thank you to Bella and Lily, our Marriott personal concierges! They were incredibly responsive and quick to assist with anything we needed, just a message away on WeChat. ☺️☺️☺️"
