Welcome to Sunset Cottage! Tucked away on a quiet little cul-de-sac, this beautiful home sits atop a small hill and offers gorgeous views of La Jolla Shores and the La Jolla Cove. This quiet street allows you to enjoy the beauty of the sand and surf all from the serenity of your private home! When you're ready, just walk a few short blocks to the beach and/or local restaurants and shops...all on flat ground. No hills, except the short driveway, to climb! When you walk into Sunset Cottage, you'll feel like you've stepped back in time....the kitchen cabinets, wood paneling and bathroom tile are all charmingly vintage! That said, all the amenities are brand new. Beautiful 400 thread count, 100% Egyptian Cotton sheets grace every bed with 100% cotton bath towels in each bath. The furniture, including all bedding, is brand new and designed to help you and your friends and family sit back, relax and enjoy each other's company. There is a large dining area with fireplace and extra seating for relaxing meals at home. The dining area opens into the large living room with sectional couch. There is a large, 65" TV to enjoy your favorite shows or movies – or just curl up on the couch and play a board game or enjoy a good book! Inside the house, there are 3 bedrooms - all with older, vintage ensuite bathrooms, AND a separate, detached 1BR studio guest house with a queen bed, walk-in closet and a private vintage bathroom. (PLEASE NOTE: The detached guest studio is only suitable for adults as it is outside near the pool and is not attached to the house.)There are two master suites with California King Beds and brand new bedding. The front suite offers beautiful views of La Jolla Shores from the bed. The second Master Suite also has a California King bed and window seat and ensuite bathroom. The middle bedroom has two queen beds and is great for two teens or four young kids (that don't mind sharing a bed). The separate guest studio is out by the pool and offers in-laws or teenagers a little bit of privacy! All 4.5 bathrooms are older and have vintage pink, yellow and/or blue tile. The shower/tub configuration is a little smaller than many modern bathrooms and requires a step over the side of the tub to get into the shower. The kitchen is well stocked and offers everything you might need to make meals at your home away from home, including; a coffeemaker, microwave, toaster oven and pots and pans. Featuring a built-in banquette, you can sit comfortably while in the kitchen talking to the chef! There is a small desk in the kitchen if you need a place to set up and work! That said, we highly recommend sitting at the dining room table with your laptop as the view is better from in there! There is wonderful space outside by the pool where you are protected from the breeze, but can still look through the house to see the beautiful ocean views! This is a wonderful spot to just sit back and read a book! There are 2 chaise lounge chairs (with umbrella) and a dining table for 4 people. There are also lots of extra chairs for those that just want to sit and enjoy an afternoon glass of wine with family and friends. For most rentals, we have a pool-safe fence around the pool to protect children from falling in. If your rental is for adults only and you would like the fencing removed before your stay, just let us know and we will make sure it is taken down before your arrival. There is a small yard in the front of the house where you can throw a football or just set up some beach chairs and watch the sunset! The laundry room is located just off the kitchen outside the main house next to the garage. There is an ironing board and iron and all laundry supplies available for your use. Once you’ve stayed here once, we’re sure you’ll come back again! Sunset cottage is truly a wonderful place to relax and recharge your batteries. PLEASE NOTE: There is AC in house bedrooms only! Another bedroom, with queen size bed, looks at a private patio. Third bedroom offers twin bunk bed plus trundle rollout twin, to sleep 3 separately, and opens to its own private patio. in addition to air conditioning and heating, each room also have quiet high speed ceiling fans.The main living areas include a spacious living room with plenty of seating and a large flat screen tv. Dining room includes a large table with seating for six and a fireplace. Desk and chair and extra rolling computer tray are available for remote workers. Living and dining areas walk out to a private patio with pool, outdoor dining table and chairs, barbecue grill, and fireplace. The newly updated kitchen offers all appliances including stove, oven, microwave oven, filtered water, refrigerator with water and ice dispenser, coffee maker, dishwasher, and many pots, pans, utensils, cooking and pantries supplies you may need.The home is equipped with extra linens, towels, beach towels, and beach umbrella. It is also stocked with toiletries and a hair dryer. As well as cards, games, puzzles, books, and DVD movies. The laundry room is available with a washing machine, dryer, detergent, iron, and ironing board.Fir those traveling with babies, we have a new Graco pack-n-play with sheets, that also has a bassinet feature for younger babies. SUMMER'S ALMOST HERE! Book your 2-night StayCation before the Summer Craziness hits! This spacious 4-bedroom 3.5-bathroom home is the perfect layout for two families to enjoy. Enter the house through a cozy courtyard where you can listen to the birds while enjoying your morning coffee in the sun. Just inside the front door is one of the two family rooms. This room will take you back in time and give you things to talk about as you check out the old artifacts on the shelves.  This is a great room to put on the game on the 65" TV while shooting a game of pool or playing a little foosball. There is also a perfect table and plenty of cards for a game of poker or a family board game.  The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, serving dishes for 12 people. The dining room table has space for 8 people.  This home has 3 large bedrooms and an office that has been converted into a kid's room. The three large bedrooms all have their own private bathrooms allowing plenty of privacy and space to spread out. The laundry room is just off the kitchen area and is also the half bathroom. Across the hall from that is the kids room. The kids room has twin bunk beds and a twin trundle for a total of 4 twin beds. Just at the end of this hallway is the first of the master bedrooms with a king bed and a love seat. The private bathroom has a large standing shower with two shower heads and a separate toilet room. Head over to the other end of the house and you have a second family room with a wood burning fireplace, a large sectional couch and a TV. This room is nice and bright with glass French doors leading to the courtyard and three sets of glass French doors leading to the backyard pool area. Down the hallway is the next bedroom that sleeps four people with two queen beds. The attached bathroom is the only shower/tub combo in the house. The last and final bedroom is at the end of the hallway. This room is located at the back of the house and has a king bed, a love seat and of course its own private bathroom.  The back yard has more outdoor patio furniture to relax in when you're not swimming in the huge pool or relaxing in the spa. There is also a basketball hoop out on the tennis court for anyone interested in shooting some hoops. This house has something for everyone. Let's not forget, this house is located just 4 blocks from La Jolla Shores beach and Kellogg Park, the most kid friendly beach in La Jolla.
