Best Hotels with bar in Province of Como

I love this place for its location near a huge forest great for running and cycling - even on a freezing winter morning! It was a good price, well organised, friendly staff and very clean. It is away from most things near an industrial estate but I chose it for the proximity to the forest and all the trails there :) It was also a simple walk to a small town with pizza and some basics. I didn't have the breakfast as it seemed quite expensive and was too busy running ;)

Location - conveniently on the A9 between Lake Como and Milan. However, it is on the highway, i.e., loud, limited place for a walk, nothing else to do - park, eat, sleep, drive further. Hotel - consists of 2 big buildings. One is a hotel, the other one with a motel sign (we did not know this). We were in the motel part - long, grey corridors, the interior is with lots of black and cold-looking. Rooms - small window, impossible to open because of the noise, shower head with very low pressure, flat pillows. Breakfast - basic continental one. As the hotel is very busy with travellers like us (on their way south or north) there is, understandably, a crowd in the morning. However, you are only allowed to move one way, for whatever section you would like to pick up food, so even if you would like to have something at the end of the buffet, you must wait. The worst thing was the coffee - cheap machine producing some kind of a brown liquid. And this is Italy! Dinner - the pizza restaurant is in the same place where the breakfast is served. It looks like a canteen - grey, black, plastic. The service forgot one of the dishes. It was ok-ish pizza. Slightly better than a fast chain restaurant. The hotel was not cheap - around 120 EUR plus 20 EUR extra for the dog. A disappointment and thankfully we were just passing through.

The hotel is located up in Brunate so a great way to enjoy the ride up is using the funicolare. Once up, you can enjoy the view of the town and lake which is just beautiful. Then, you can call the hotel and in five minutes they can come pick you up. We are originally from Mexico so in November it got very chilly for us but that didn’t stop us enjoy the town walking, eating great food, aperols and gelatos. We loved our stay at the hotel, all of the staff members were so nice. Comfy bed, the radiators worked well, very clean, and a fantastic view of the lake. It was more than what we expected. Definitely would stay again!

We have only spent 3 nights in this beautiful garden. The old buildings have been renovated lovely and the old charm is feeling in the facility. From the reception to the newly opened restaurant (absolutely delicious regional food! evening) the staff was very friendly and premature. English was not a problem too. The nearness to the motorway we have seen as a advantage in the excursions, the noise is heard. For our dog the good was also a highlight! In the small park, accessible through the window, you can use the line to walk. There are also plenty of green flakes around the hotel. The buffet is rather overviewed, there are regional sauce and cheese, bread and sweet food, and fresh fruit (unfortunately no vegetables). Who prefers a shower than a bath, should ask for a room with a shower. We have got a suite with a bathtub which was uncomfortable for us. In the whole we had a beautiful feeling to be welcome, and that's the most important!

I stayed here for 5 days and was very comfortable. I had a solo room with a great mountain view, it was an absolute joy to wake up to. Breakfast is included and they serve the creamiest cappucino I have ever tasted, seriously, its insanely good. They also serve a delicious, rich and moist slice of cake, boiled eggs, fresh fruit and some more of the basics for breakfast. There's a fee if you want to have your eggs fried or scrambled. The mattress was of a great firmness and I got an extra pillow on request. If you need an adapter for your laptop, they have this for you as well. If you want to bring some groceries in there's a fridge you can use downstairs. I'd say the only thing that really bothered me was not being able to make tea in my room. I missed having a kettle, instead I'd have to go downstairs to ask for a cup of tea, that got charged to my total bill at the end of my stay. Besides that, all the staff was incredibly friendly, especially the breakfast staff. The village this villa is located in is also very friendly and quite pretty. There's enough places to walk or hike to for some stunning views, nature and rock collecting. I got a very warm welcome in San Fedele and definitely would recommend anyone to visit. The locals are kind and fun-loving. For solo travelers who don't speak Italian very well it can be a bit intimidating to go out since all nightlife is accumulated in one street and they don't speak a lot of English, but seriously, just go and try your best. Wish people a nice day or evening in Italian, and Google Translate your way through it. There's some people who speak English but generally, just try so you're not being rude. On the day of my birthday, the local flower shop owner came by in the morning and picked and handed me a bunch of beautiful flowers (without knowing it's my birthday). It was a great moment, really made me happy. She was incredibly nice. Her truffle dog is pictured, don't try to pet him lol. On the last day I happened to see her again and got handed some amazingly fragrant flowers, again 🥰
