Hotel Boutique Casona de Santa Clara

We were the only guest at the hotel ( it’s a hotel with only a few rooms) Front desk was in agreement with the narcs to get money from us in the middle of the night. We got a phone call on our personal number to ask for money or else. It was a terrible situation and police got involved. We went to another hotel at 1 AM just to get away from the hotel. Moneys got reimbursed by manager.

The hotel is centrally located on a busy street but the rooms are completely quiet. The staff was wonderful assisting with restaurant and tour recommendations. Guadalupe helped us book our bus pass to Mexico City. The rooms are very spacious, clean and renovated. The only thing we don’t care for are those fancy bath tubs because they’re challenging to get in and out. The water pressure was excellent as was the temperature. We had a meal there and the food was good. We would definitely stay there again. Awesome hotel and city.

Great property and beautiful rooms. The staff is helpful and everyone is nice. The location is perfect and you're in the middle of everything. I'll be back for sure! Some areas of improvement: Replace the safes or provide clearer instructions. Use better quality toiletries. The body lotion is useless and mostly water. Replace the robes. They only fit children. Thanks for a great stay!

The worst part about this hotel? No elevator. It's not a big deal since the hotel is only two levels. However, if you have heavy bags like we did, there is help. The place is very nice, and the breakfast was delicious. My husband really enjoyed their "Cafe de la olla" which is essentially brewed coffee, as we enjoy it here in the states. The part he enjoyed was that they flavored it with cinnamon sticks. The rooms are big and well maintained. The bed is super comfy and the bathroom is well equipped, and it even comes with a bathtub, a rarity in Mexico hotels. I highly recommend their hot stone massages. We enjoyed a couples massage. It was very relaxing. This hotel is only a few block from the city square and several businesses.

We would highly recomend this hotel to others. The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. The staff were all attentive and kind. The breakfast was good and they had vegetarian options.

Water in sink in bathroom did not work. TV did not work. We were in the cathedral room and the room was beautiful
