R2 Bahia Kontiki

So nearly a 5* review. Just returned from this beautiful hotel after a 10 day stay and a brilliant holiday. Peurto del Carmen is lovley. Something for everyone. The Positives. The pool, hotel, chill out balcony, views are just amazing. The rooms are spotless and the breakfast area and food cannot be faulted. The breakfast/bar staff are amazing too. Had a couple of lunches here as too from the snack menu and responsibly priced. 4 euro a pint of beer 2 euro for a coffee. Sun beds were easy to obtain. I think they have put more in since other reviewers had complained about lack of them. The negatives, and this should not put you off coming but it is why i cannot give it a 5* review. On arrival you are told that if you want to use the safe its now 4 euro a day this has increased from 3 euro a day. So that would have been 40 euro then for us. If if you want WiFi in your room its 2 euro a day. So before they give you a room key they wanted 60 euro off me. Not a chance. This should be provided for free in a 4* Hotel. Luckily i had read previous reviews so bought a lock for my case and topped up my data before i came. Also if you have a late return flight they will find you room to have a shower but again only if you pay 30 euro until 3pm or 40 euro after this. Come on !! Surely you can find a room that people can spend 20 mins in to have a quick shower and a change of clothes before a long journey home. Other Hotels provide time slots for this. We ended up getting changed in the lobby toilets which to be fair were big enough for it not to be a problem. Overall the positives by far outweighed the nagatives, and i would deffinatley stay here again.

Hotel Lanzarote Village

Myself and my wife spent two weeks at this 4 star hotel from the 7th to the 21st of Jan 2024. Twenty mins transfer time from the airport to the hotel. Was a quick and easy check in, lovely receptionist and given an upgrade to a side sea view room no 1233 which was an unexpected bonus. The room was modern well furnished and very clean. The bathroom was well kitted out with a newish walk in shower and a first in my experience of hotels of a glass panel that was actually long enough to contain all the water and didn't let liquid spill onto the tiled floor. Top marks for the bathroom designer. The bed was extremely comfortable and we both slept very well. There was no noise to disturb us from suitcases being dragged along floors or staff beginning their chores in the morning as is the norm in most hotels. The location of the hotel is perfect for us. Right opposite a beautiful beach and 20 Min easy walk on the left to Matagorda where you will find lots of bars and restaurants and beautiful beaches where we swam in the warmer than normal sea most days. Shout out to the Sirocco restaurant and the Devon. Food and drink in both was great. The weather incidently for the full holiday was sensational. 22 to 23 degs most days and a couple of days at a toasty 26degs. Perfect. Turn right out of the hotel and you are on the ***** for Puerto Del Carmen. Up to 40 mins to reach the end but worth the walk for all the shops bars and restaurants that line the whole *****. Some beautiful beaches all along the way and we had some great swims and lunches down there. Shout out to Long beach club on the ***** for fabulous views and superb food and service. Also unbelievably you can buy a large draught beer at many bars in both resorts for only €1.50. Unheard of nowadays. Lanzarote village hotel was spotlessly clean in all public areas and our room was cleaned every day to a high standard. The staff everywhere in the hotel are helpful friendly and efficient even in busy times when they are obviously under pressure. The dining room staff who we had the most contact with because we were on half board were unfailingly pleasant and smiley and invariably up for a laugh and a joke with guests which all helped to make the experience more memorable. This happened even at the busiest of times which is admirable because it showed everybody had bought into the ethos of no matter how much pressure you are under the guests happiness and enjoyment was paramount. The pool area was also kept spotless and was a great place to sunbathe and relax and getting sunbeds was never a problem even though the hotel was busy. Now to the food served at this hotel. I have seen a number of reviews criticising the culinary offering here and it may put some people off booking here which would be totally unfair to the chefs and the hotel . I would like to put straight a couple of points in reviews that really annoyed me after dining here for two weeks Somebody remarked ”Nothing goes together ”. Every nig
Aequora Lanzarote Suites

We took a holiday away to a favourited location of ours, Lanzarote and decided to stay at the AEQUORA suites as it looked professional and relaxing enough to get away from stress. However little did we know a stress free holiday was going to become more stressful. One night as we were coming back from a walk towards the sea front, my mother used one of the ”disabled friendly” access ramps. She fell backwards on property of the hotel and has now become even more disabled with issues to walk and pelvis problems. She got an MRI at our local hospital yesterday and has confirmed that she has dislodged discs in her spine with nerve issues due to the fall, on a ramp that was supposed to be disable friendly. We spoke to one of the management who was lovely, but tried to blame the local Lanzarote council for the ramp and the fall. However the fall happened on the grounds and they're not willing to take responsibility for the incident. We were told to go to the hospital in Lanzarote but my mother declined as she has spent so much time in hospital recently and wanted a break. Not only did the fall happen once, but TWICE!!! Can't really label this hotel being disabled friendly if all it does is make the disabled, more disabled. Another problem we encountered was discrimination from the staff at AEQUORA, this doesn't apply to everyone but specifically the female assistant manager. With my mother being bound to a wheelchair for long distance and a walking stick for short distance because she has walking issues, we wanted to sit at a double table made for four, but only three of us were attending that table. We needed a bigger table and a quieter walk way so my mother doesn't get knocked and has a fall (Common occurrence here). However we were approached by a rude assistant manager who started saying how we weren't allowed to sit here and had to sit at a small 2 person table for 3 in a area with a lot of footfall, a tripping hazard for my mother and even my elderly grandfather. Me and my grandfather tried to explain to her that we needed to sit at a four person table (even though there is 3 of us) due to my mothers disability, which she rudely ignored and started putting her finger in me and my grandfathers face then ignored us and started talking down to my mother. For which my mother couldn't stick up for herself due to not having a voice at the minute due to medical reasons. I couldn't believe my eyes after the amount we have paid to come here, and the labels this hotel establishes itself with. After both these incidents we spoke our concerns to the Guest experience manager who was incredible. He gave us a table for 4 for us 3, and had a technician to come repair my mothers wheelchair temporarily which has now fully fallen apart due to the falls which occurred on site at the AEQUORA suites. I think this hotel is great for kids and families as long as there is no disabilities. Which is quite disappointing to see as you would think most places would be no
Seaside Los Jameos

We spent 10 days there early in July and will be gong back. The rooms were clean and reasonably comfortable. All the members of staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful, we didn't go to the nightly entertainment much but what we did see was well put together. The food was some of the best we have had in a multitude of 4 star hotels we have stayed in. Although we had no problems with sunbeds but there did seem to a shortage mid morning, it was good to see a member of hotel staff go around and clear long term but not used towels from beds. The location of the hotel was OK close to the beach and a few shops and supermarket.

Fabulous hotel. We’re here at the moment and really enjoying it. First time at this hotel. We were upgraded on arrival so that was a bonus, and our apartment is great. The beds are massive and really comfortable, as were the pillows - very important to us!! Nice to have fridge, microwave and tea/coffee making equipment. Lovely power shower. Apartment spacious with a massive terrace - table & chairs & 2 sunbeds. Everywhere and everything is spotless. Pool area is great - I like that the sunbeds have plenty of space between them. There are also sofas along the back in the shade. Great access to beach area through the back gate. There is a book swap library with a nice quiet seating area. Great lounge - the seats are so comfortable, and entertainment from 9 pm every evening. The hotel staff, without exception, are so friendly, efficient and accommodating.. Dining room is good with plenty of choice, and I like that you can eat outside as well. We’ve been coming to this resort for over 25 years and this is the best place we’ve stayed.
