Reviews of Holiday Club Sol Amadores

Everything was perfect, I loved it all!! If I had to say anything negative, it would be the sun loungers on the terrace; the covers were dirty and worn. Otherwise, everything was great, I'd definitely come back! 🤗

Dates of stay: 31st Jan - 7th Feb Weather: So much sun! Around 20/21 degrees which often felt a little hotter. The late afternoons tended to get a bit cooler but just a light layer over the top was needed for the evenings out. Hotel and Room: Room 101 (comes with heated private pool, rarely available so we were very lucky)! The room is spacious, clean and bright. Lots of storage available. The views from terrace are out of this world! The amount of sun on it is incredible, from 9am to 6pm. The pool is the star of the show, it’s a shame our neighbours didn’t have a pool rather than hot tubs too as the pool is so much better! The room is located right by a gate that leads to the walk to Amadores Beach! Amazingly convenient, the walk is not hard, I repeat the walk is not hard! So many reviews are really against the walk, my Mum who is 70 managed it, it takes no more than 15 minutes to the beach. On the way back it will only take a bit longer due to having a little stop as it is steep (but so doable! Perhaps aim to walk early before the sun is too hot and come back later when it cools down). Also, the path is very clean but also a bit slippy in certain footwear simply because of the surface texture so you might feel a bit tense as you walk down if wearing something not so grippy. Cleaners come so often. We didn’t always need the rooms cleaned so just asked for what we did need such as new tea towels and dishwasher tablets. Air con units all work very well. TV has a good few English channels, you can’t watch Netflix so just ignore that on the TV remote. In fact, it’s all about being outside on the terrace and in the pool, we didn’t even need TV! Bring card games with you :) We never really spent time at the communal pool until the last day, it was lovely! We managed to get a later checkout for free (thank you)! and our flight was much later so we spend all day at the pool and kept our luggage in reception. The on-site shop is small and doesn’t have a lot so walk to the Europa Centre where there are two supermarkets and there is also one at the bottom of the slope on route to amadores beach. Just have plenty of hands to help carry the shopping back if you’re buying a lot, top tip buy your big bottles of water from the hotel shop so don’t have to carry it far. Very minor things - The kitchen table would be better positioned the other way giving more space around the kitchen walkway to lounge. A cheese grater, garlic crusher and microwave instructions would all be useful. A welcome manual would also be a great touch too. The main double bedroom should be the only one with a shower en-suite, the family bathroom would be better as a bath tub and shower combo. We never found out how to make that shower work properly but the lovely staff would have helped if we asked, we just all used the better shower room! The gym in our opinion should really be free for guests especially those spending the full wack on their room like me! Location: You really can’t

Just had a great week here . Location is ok but there is a distance to walk . Reception will also call you a cab and it comes quickly. Staff are the friendliest and loveliest staff ever . No issues We never had any hot water for the first evening and morning but they replaced the tank quickly . The lift broke and that's tricky as steps aren't lit . A staff member helped me with my case so that's fine Apartment is clean well equipped and spacious. We had a jacuzzi room which was excellent with great views Pool was lovely pool bar great drinks from reception were great value too I would definitely return and recommend

Small hotel with 38 apartments. We stayed in room 202. This didn't have a jacuzzi on the balcony but we weren't bothered. Room was huge with 2 separate balconies, one for the clothes airer and the other which had the table and loungers on. Lovely view out towards Amadores beach. Rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels left. Kitchen had everything you needed to cook and even had a dishwasher. Pool area was small but never too overcrowded. Pool bar had great food, snacks and drinks and all reasonably priced. Reception team were lovely too and would ring the taxi company to get you where you needed to go. Direct access to a pathway leading you down to the main road approaching Amadores beach but would be difficult to climb back up if you had mobility issues. Taxi never cost more than €6 I think. We've been to Gran Canaria many times and would definitely return to this hotel in the future. It really is a little gem!

This place is amazing. A total hidden gem. The place is spotless through out. The staff are very friendly. The pool area is lovely, there is a great little poolside snack bar selling food and drinks and they are very reasonably priced. Our room was better than we could have thought! Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. The showers are nice and strong. Beds were comfortable. Air con in every room. All you’d need in a kitchen is supplied plus we had a dishwasher. The best thing though was the balcony it was huge. We had table and chairs with canopies, four sun loungers and a full size jacuzzi and the view was amazing! A small onsite shop is available which is great if your low on milk etc. we got a taxi to the Europa centre, bout 4/5 euros to go to the the supermarket. In the hotel there is a path outside that takes you down a steep hill that leads you down to the main path to the beach, it’s about a ten minute walk on a steep bank but it’s a nice walk. The beach is lovely. We would 100% recommend this hotel

Just back from a great week Couldn’t fault anything Apartment was spotless and cleaned every day Hot tub was amazing Pool and bar were ideal and super clean A few beers and spicy potatoes by the pool in the sun Staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough Would recommend a car as it’s quite high up

Excellent accommodation. Stayed in the nearby holiday club vista in May and sol is equally as good. Apartment very clean and excellently equipped. The bed was very comfortable and the ac worked very well. The whole complex was cleaned to a very high standard. The pool was heated and the whole pool area was so chilled and relaxing. Never a problem getting sunbeds. We ate lunch or snacks in the pool bar most days and I would highly recommend it. Very good quality and reasonably priced and the lady running the pool bar was very nice. We knew that the accomodation was on a hill before we arrived so that was not a problem. Had a fantastic stay here and would definitely return.

We are a time share owner here and have been coming to the Sol Amadores for 22 years. The apartments are top class and the staff are incredible. The pool area is tranquil and the pool is heated all year round so always perfect temp for a dip ! The pool bar food and drink is always nice and the rooms are clean and spacious with aircon throughout. Hot tubs are on some balconies and the view is one never to get bored of. Would highly recommend.

We had a 2 bed unit with jacuzzi. It was a well equipped, modern and spacious unit. The outside space was huge with space for loungers, comfortable sofa, outdoor eating and jacuzzi. Resort staff were very helpful and accommodating. Would definitely go back. Loved it

Great views from large patio. Get one with a jacuzzi if you can! Close to the beach and to markets. Steep incline if you walk but there’s a parking down there if you prefer. Plenty of parking spaces in front of hotel. Our only concern- though it seems normal over there- is that while water is not consumable, you need to pay (admittedly cheap price) for a bottle.

Lovely beach resort of Amadores in walking distance. Wonderful staff in reception, both ladies were lovely and very helpful. Resort itself is nothing fancy but did what we needed it to. The apartment was big enough for the four of us and we found beds comfortable enough too. Big let down is the area for courtesy showers on departure day when checking out late. Last year (we returned this year) it was just ok but unfortunately this year it was dreadful. Cold shower, no pressure and an unpleasant end to our holiday.

Had an excellent time at this lovely hotel. Rooms were fabulous, very clean and comfortable. Made such a difference to our holiday to have a lovely comfortable bed to sleep in after a lot of walking! Great walks to all surrounding areas and lovely little pool that the kids enjoyed where you can buy snacks and ice creams etc. Staff were helpful and there is an onsite shop to pick up bread and munchies for the room! Would definitely come back here it was a great hotel!

This place can not be faulted. Fantastic rooms, pool, gym, mini golf, etc etc. Some reviews are correct, a car or taxi is needed if you don't want the 5 to 20 min walk to Europa where bars and restaurants are. Still does not deserve the bad reviews. Staff are so good and the place is so clean. Total value for money.

This review is only based on the fact that 6 days prior to traveling, Holiday Club decided to change which resort I was staying at. I was moved to a resort I would not have book, into a room that was damp and had never seen the sun, the room had a sliding patio door as the only entry and exit from the room, almost directly onto the street, to say it was a security issue would be understating the issue. This is really a warning to anyone else considering staying here, you can book this restore but there is absolutely no guarantee that this is where you will be staying, it appears to be a regular occurrence from this company, you have absolutely no come back at such short notice. They come across like this is perfectly acceptable behaviour. Personally, I will never book any of their resorts again.
