A little far from downtown and the attractions but you’ll be driving or in a cab anyway, there is no walking in Putian. The newest and definitely most pleasant of the five star hotels in the city. The park next door is charming, and the hot spring is very pleasant, although there is some controversy as to whether the hot spring has the correct water overflow/replacement to make sure the water is being renewed isn’t dead water.
Note that despite nominally being a non smoking hotel, the floor we were on reeked with smoke with one room propping the door open while smoking and cleaning staff passed by without batting an eyelid.
Rooms are big, well equipped and there are the expected Shangrila touches. Would definitely choose this hotel to stay in over any other in the city.

The receptionist was very enthusiastic. He helped me carry my luggage to the room as soon as I got off the car and introduced everything. The service was very good. The hot spring was clean.

Because we all got up relatively late, we only came out to do activities in the afternoon after moving. If you need to clean the room, you usually need to inform the front desk.
