Qingdao Yihuayihai Hotel (Eight Great Passes Scenic Area No.2 Bathing Beach)

It is literally the worst hotel in my life, and I do travel a lot (more than 100 hotels visited). I specially booked the room with 2 big beds (1.8 m), because it was important for our rest. Actually I chose this hotel because they provided this kind of beds. The hotel has confirmed the room for several times, but when I arrived they just switched the room type, saying that something is wrong and they can’t give the ordered room. Ok, this may happen. We agreed. The new room was totally not ready to get in, it was extremely hot inside, and the room had 2 floors. The problem was, that the leader was kind of broken, it had very loud noise when you walk and the steps move as well. And the problem was that the beds were upstairs. As I was traveling with small kids, it was kind of very scary to let them climb up and down all the times. The room itself was very old, with wallpapers going off the walls, with dirty mirrors, with not working conditioner (it only blew wind, but didn’t change temperature). No glasses or cups provided. Only 3 paper glasses for four people, which broke after the first use. It was very dusty, the balcony was very old and dirty. We stayed for four days and they never cleaned the room, or changed towels, or took away trash, or gave water, or even the toilet paper. They left 1 roll for four people for four days, photo provided. All the time the cleaning tray was staying in front of our door. Maybe it ment I had to do it myself. The garden was a complete mess, with some children clothes, piles of trash, broken furniture. We wanted to move away, but there was no one at the reception desk for all 4 days. It looked like we are living in an abandoned hotel. The area around is wonderful, beautiful, you are living in a magnificent garden. Very peaceful. The beach is very close. But there are no restaurants or shops nearby. So you have to walk at least 900 m to get one. I’m totally shocked that I could find that kind of hotel, that was fully overpriced, with no service on trip.com. If I could rate it zero, I’d do so.

The bed was very worn out, very hard as well. The room was located towards the street, very loud. In general, you can hear anything the neighbors say in their rooms and even louder in the hallway, very disturbing in the morning. I stayed for three nights and the room service didn’t show up once.

We had a great stay! The staff was very friendly and helpful — they guided us clearly and even helped us rent a scooter. They also let us park our motorbike, which was really convenient. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the bed was super comfortable. We’re very satisfied with the service and would definitely come back. Thank you!
