Homeinn Selected Hotel (Quanzhou Puxi Wanda Plaza )

The hotel was great and they even upgraded our room for free. The breakfast was also delicious.

① The surrounding area is a wet market, so it feels like being in a village with nothing much to eat. Although it's said to be close to Wanda Plaza, you still have to walk a fair distance (about ten minutes). It's also quite a distance from West Street, costing 15-20 yuan by taxi, and cars have trouble getting in to pick you up. ② The hotel's soundproofing is poor; you can clearly hear people in the hallway, especially the loud sound of doors opening and closing, which made for a very bad stay. Plus, one morning around 9 am, there were gongs, drums, and firecrackers outside, which really disturbed my rest. ③ The environment is run-down; just look at the pictures. The ambiance is far worse than other Hanting Premium hotels I've stayed in, like those in Shanghai and Shenzhen, which had good experiences. ④ The internet is bad; you have to share the network with other rooms. It might also be an issue with my iPhone, as it frequently disconnected. I ended up just using my mobile data. ⑤ The toilet flush didn't work well; even pressing hard, there was no response. ⑥ The hotel's location isn't good, making it hard to get a taxi. Each time I waited for a car, it took 6-7 minutes. There are also no bus stops or places to find shared electric scooters nearby, making transportation inconvenient. As for the pros, apart from the male front desk staff who greeted me on the first day having a bit of a bad attitude, the cleaning aunties and other staff were all very enthusiastic, which made for a decent experience. The staff provided a good experience, but the hotel's facilities are genuinely bad. I reasonably suspect this used to be a Hanting Express that was rebranded as Hanting Premium. (The male front desk staff's attitude was bad because I had booked the room far in advance and specifically requested no end-of-corridor rooms. He immediately told me there were no rooms left except end-of-corridor ones. I checked in at 2 pm and he told me there were no rooms... His attitude wasn't great. Finally, he told me to wait a while, and they would clean a new non-end-of-corridor room for me.)

The hotel was exceptionally clean and tidy, with its own private parking. The front desk staff were welcoming, and the security guards were friendly and dedicated. The location is excellent too – right in the bustling city center yet surprisingly quiet, and very close to nearby attractions.

The hotel's location is excellent; it's very convenient to get to attractions by bus or taxi. It's also very self-driving friendly with easy parking, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. The room was clean and tidy, and the breakfast was quite good. The front desk and staff were all warm and attentive. It was a pleasant trip overall.

This hotel boasts an excellent location, very close to the subway station. There's a direct bus from Quanzhou Railway Station, and you can also catch a direct bus to Kaiyuan Temple and the Bell Tower.
