I am not happy with the type of beds in the apartment. The booking clearly stated that it was one king size with 2 single beds but I found out the apartment arranged 2 double beds instead. The next day I called the front desk and he told me because I didn’t requested for 2 single beds so 2 double beds were arranged. When I checked out I showed my booking photos to the staff and he told me I sent an email to them and specifically requested to have a double bed instead of 2 singles. I have never requested for that and I was very upset with these responses. Could trip.com investigate what has been gone wrong in my booking? Thank you.

It was a lovely stay, fantastic location! It was great for our little family. The only thing was the outside light in the hall is on all night and very bright into the kids bedroom which we couldn't shut out enough with the blinds on the window.

It can be said that this hotel is the most satisfying one in my entire trip to New Zealand. The room is so big. You can see the lakeside as soon as you enter. There is a kitchen with utensils, a refrigerator, an oven, etc., suitable for making some simple meals by yourself. The service is very good and you can park for free. We have an RV and they very considerately reserved the two most convenient parking spaces for us outside. The location is the most convenient. It's right next to the steamboat dock. It's only a three-minute walk away. There are many restaurants and shops nearby, and shopping is also very convenient.

The room is fully equipped with kitchen utensils and other facilities. It is very close to various attractions. It is a real lake view room👍

The location is very good, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the lake. The room was clean. Free parking is available at the door.

Went there to celebrate a friends birthday and we had a blust, planning to go with my husband soon because the place is so refreshing. The friendliness from the stuff was unbelievable, they made us feel so welcome and we enjoyed every minute.... Definitely going again

We stayed in Apartment 4 - family of 3 in a 2 bedroom penthouse with kitchen - arrived New Years eve 2023 for a week. All the apartments are different apparently. The location of this property is excellent. Just a stone's throw from the centre of town - 2-3 minute stroll. View was spectacular of the lake and mountains - clear view and no obstructions. Apartment 4 has been recently renovated. It was a spacious and comfortable apartment. Very clean. Carpet in great condition; kitchen well-appointed. Nice comfortable lounge and dining table/chairs. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Shower had great pressure and great heater in the bathroom. Staff were excellent and obliging. Very easy place to stay and no complaints. It's not cheap over the new year period, but nothing in Queenstown is. I recommend this property - apartment 4 anyway. Can't vouch for the other apartments. The big plus for this place is the view from the penthouse apartments - the higher you go, the better it is. Also the proximity to town - perfect. It is on the main road that passes through town, but the bedrooms are back off the road so traffic noise didn't really bother us. Lastly, it has a washing machine and dryer in the apartment which were great. Fridge and microwave. Car park downstairs (locked with code) and also out the front if you have a car. Very pleasant and comfortable stay at this property and we're quite fussy where we stay as a family. We expect everything to be pretty spot on and it was. Apartment 4 has no balcony but has 2 big sliding doors that open the living area right up to the outside breeze. Some apartments do have larger balconies that you can walk onto and sit out there. You should call them and ask to confirm what apartment has a balcony before you book if that's important to you. It didn't worry us at all.

The apartment is very spacious and with a gorgeous view of Lake Wakatipu, Walter Peak and Queenstown Gardens. It seems newly redecorated with nice carpets, clean painted walls and nice French windows. The heater works well and rooms are quiet. Furnitures are old dated but clean and cozy. Kitchen with full set of equipments is convenient. The guest laundry is in the garage, it costs NZ$4 for washing and another NZ$4 for drying. They offer hang-dry rack, too. Location’s good; supermarket, restaurants and shops are all in 5 to 10-minute walking distance. We stayed there for 6 nights, prices aren’t sweet, but definitely worthy. It’s joyful and truly relaxed. Definitely recommend it. They’re bloody full-booking, just do it as soon as possible.

Having stayed at The Waterfront on previous occasions, we once again enjoyed the amenities of a spacious two bedroom, two bath apartment with lovely views of Lake Wakatipu. The location offered easy access to the shops and eateries of downtown Queenstown and nearby easy walking tracks leading to the historic One Mile Power Station and beyond. Our apartment was nicely appointed and offered upgraded appliances, comfortable and tasteful furnishings, and easy access via the lift. The managerial staff was responsive to all special requests and answered all emails promptly. Manager Bikesh was especially knowledgeable and helpful with getting up settled in and assisting with our departure. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

DO NOT STAY HERE !! Particularly in appt 14 . All appts are individually owned and the photos in their website do not reflect the appt you will get. Ours was in original 1980 condition.and it appears the owners did not want to update or spend money on maintaining the appt. Mould in bathroom, cabinetry chipped and damaged. Stain on carpets. Only one bedside cupboard . Could not access shower easily as I had a small gap to pass by as the shower is over the bath with damaged sliding glass door. Also they do not service rooms !!!!! This is not mentioned in the website. Our room was on level 1 so we had no privacy as people walked by and guests parking in front, would all peer into our appt. I needed to see a GP whilst in town and reception could not assist me as they didn’t know where they were located. With a rundown appt, we still had to pay the full $492 AUS per night . Absolutely disgusting !!

The positives ; booked the ' Penthouse ' room 4A through ***********. Top floor. Nice bed & nice shower(s). Underfloor heating was very nice . Basic kitchenette plates/ cutlery/ kettle microwave & coffee maker. The position of these apartments are ideal for a walk into the ' buzzy' center. The not so positive; the furniture in this room have seen better days . The leather look sofa really let this room down. We couldn't sit on it as it was so uncomfortable. Overall the stay was pleasant. Although there's quite a bit of noise from other apartments & being on the main road from cars , lorrys etc. It does eventually go quiet & we did get some quality sleep due to a very comfy & cosy bed. The room was warm & the view from our balcony terrace was superb. Free parking was an added bonus.

I phoned the Waterfront after my children and I caught covid while staying in a different hotel in Queenstown. Our accommodation wasn’t going to last the length of our required isolation and we needed to move from a tiny hotel room! Bikesh was so accommodating, the two bedroom apartment was lovely and just the comfort we needed! Bikesh was careful to make arrangements so we didn’t affect other guests while ill, and with the amazing views and brilliant kitchen it was the ideal place for us to be stuck. I would love to have the opportunity to stay there again (without covid of course!). Thoroughly recommend.

Wow! John and the team at, 'The Waterfront' have an AMAZING property, that sits right 'smack bang', in the heart of Queenstown; one of New Zealand's most magnificent and iconic tourist destinations! From our first contact with them, the whole experience was first class. We decided early on, to forego the usual 'hotel' stay, and instead go with a boutique style fully contained apartment. The views from our two bed, two bathroom (4th floor) apartment was truly stunning! The kitchen was well stoked, and also had a dishwasher, toaster, and a microwave. Even though we had a fully stocked kitchen, we ate out everyday. But the choice to stay IN and cook, was great to have. Vogel's toast in the morning with our Nespresso coffee (machine came with us as airplane carry on luggage) was the only "cooking" we did. We with 100%, most certainly come back and stay longer in a Penthouse Suite. Thanks Again to John and the wonderful crew! Marcus
