This holiday park definitely underperformed my expectations. First the good: facilities were clean and the location is excellent, a short walk into town. The bad: I know holiday park camping isn’t the same as camping in the US, you expect to be close to your neighbors here, but this place takes it to the extreme. Everything is so jammed in it’s actually hard to maneuver a campervan around, such as getting to the dump station. It’s not laid out to make it easy for driving a large rig around. If you don’t have kids, this won’t be relevant for you, but unlike every other holiday park we’ve visited in NZ, this one has no playground, no trampoline, no jumping pillow, nothing for the kids. They said there is a playground in town, a 10 minute walk away, but that doesn’t allow for the kids to play at the playground while mom and dad are making dinner, for example. It goes back to having everything jammed in as tight as possible, there’s no room to have a playground because that isn’t money making for the owners. The Wifi was painfully slow and they limit you to 1gb per day, which is sufficient for most people, but just rubs me the wrong way after paying 100 dollars to park my campervan for the night. Lastly, the staff wasn’t overly friendly. Not rude, but unlike most other holiday parks where we stayed where people were extremely helpful and friendly, the vibe here is more down to business. I definitely would not stay here again and would recommend you consider other options, especially if you’re a family traveling with kids.
