Tulemar Resort

This place is absolutely paradise. The staff are so nice and they help make your stay enjoyable. The abundance of wildlife is incredible. The private beach with service was a nice touch too. This is an absolute must when staying in Quepos, Costa Rica.

This resort is unbelievably amazing. From the moment you step foot you're greeted by their phenomenal staff. The grounds are stunning and make you feel like you've got your own Costa Rican neighborhood. We honestly saw more animals from our balcony than we did when we went to Manual Antonio Park. I got to see multiple sloths, squirrel monkeys, a Toucan, Capuchin's, iguanas, a Howler monkey and even heard the Howler's crazy loud call! The view from their Tulemar Cae are unparalleled and their private beach is the perfect slice of heaven. I'm trying to convince everyone I know to go back with us again! Speal shout out to Orlando for his exceptional concierge service and all the men in the shuttles for carting us around all day, everyday! :)

My daughters, sister and I enjoyed a week at Tulemar and it was extraordinary! Our villa was decorated beautifully, and as great as the villa was, the view from the balcony was even more exceptional! From the porch of our villa, we had beautiful views of the ocean and all of the lush trees around us, while we lounged in the hammock or daybed outside. One day, we returned from the beach and had monkeys playing on our hammock! In the early mornings, we could hear the monkeys running across our rooftop and it was so cool. Our concierge, Alex, spoiled us all week. Alex handled the bookings for all of our fun excursions, placed any food orders when we just wanted to eat in our villa and enjoy the beautiful view from our balcony, and he was always available for questions. All of the excursions were booked through Tulemar, so it was the easiest planning I have traveled around the world and can definitely attest, Tulemar was the best! Outside the resort, we enjoyed a number of fun excursions noted on their site -- we went on waterfall tours; my teen daughters learned to surf; we rode ATVs through the jungle; we went on an evening jungle tour and enjoyed the gorgeous private beach area at Tulemar, etc. Costa Rica was absolutely beautiful and the stay at Tulemar was truly exquisite, I highly recommend Tulemar -- I would go again in a heartbeat!

What you see in the descriptions and reviews is what you get. We’ve been staying yearly at Tulemar since 2017 (except during the pandemic) and there are so many reasons to keep returning. Where else can you sleep with your windows open and hear howler monkeys and wood rails? Where else can you be greeted by sloths right outside your door or monkeys on your roof or less charmingly your balcony? We need to come back next year to see how the macaws and their new family are doing right by the Tule Cafe. Orlando has been with us every step of the way. He is truly special and every year his kindness overwhelms us. Going above and beyond does not begin to describe his efforts. We rely on his expertise and he never disappoints. From whom else would you hear the fine detail of asking for cushions at an offsite restaurant so that you are more comfortable? He sends on us tours and to places that he knows will be good and always asks for feedback so that he can learn for others. We’ve stayed in bungalows all over the property and each has its own characteristics. We used to go to a morning workout at one of the local gyms but this year the hill climbing because of our bungalow location made that unnecessary. It was a good enough workout getting to and from the pool and on our nature walks. Pura Vida to all at Tulemar, including the kind rescue and conservation efforts of onsite Sloth Institute. We thank you once again for allowing us to escape our brutal Canadian ice and snow winter.

Spectacular views, cozy accommodations, attentive staff, and wildlife right in front of you! Don’t second guess it, just go! Sloths, toucans, iguanas, monkeys, macaws, smooth sand, warm water, rainforests, fresh food!

Truly a 5 star experiance and the most beatiful placed I had stayed at. You are living in the midst of wild life and have access to your own private beach. Off of your deck it is a gorgeous view. In addition, the workers are friendly and are at your assistance whenever asked for. I personally enjoyed Juan Carlo, our connoisseur and Moses, the driver. Be prepared to see monkeys on your deck and sloths on trees.

Tulemar blew away our expectations. My wife and I are seasoned travelers who don’t usually like resorts, but for our 10th wedding anniversary we wanted to do something special. Tulemar appealed to us because, although it is a resort with all the amenities and more that one would expect for the price, it is also like staying inside of a national park. Our standard bungalow was perfect, with floor to ceiling windows giving us a 24/7 look at the jungle all around us, macaws flying by the sunset over the Pacific, monkey troops climbing through the branches for berries in the morning, even sloths snuggling their babies in the canopy. It was magical, and it was natural. Our concierge, Laura, was incredible. She reached out to us months before our stay to introduce herself and to get a sense of the activities we were interested in, and when we were ready, she arranged and booked them all for us. Ziplines, night hikes, catamaran cruises, even romantic sunset dinners on the beach, Laura was on it. I’ve never had a concierge before, and she was truly special. The rest of the staff at Tulemar was also a joy. In particular, David at the beach was immensely helpful, and Stefano who waited on us during our sunset dinner (no, he didn’t bring the sloth that graced the tree above our heads as we ate but I’ll still credit him with the impeccable vibe). Giovanni at the Tulemar Cafe brightened every morning with his good cheer and service over breakfast (the food was fantastic too). I could not recommend Tulemar more highly.

Really enjoyed Tulemar. From a family perspective, it allows for both an "active" vacation and a laid-back relaxing scene by the beach or pool. The food scene on the property and in the surrounding area provides a lot of options. Wildlife viewing (sloths, monkeys, toucans, macaws) is excellent on the property. Our concierge Freddy was a great host and very responsive to our needs - he even took me into town when the ATM near the resort ran out of cash. I can't say enough about the experience and will definitely return in the future.

Fantastic place. Very relaxing and a great experience. Wonderful sorrundings and breathtaking to see so many animals in their natural habitat. Definitely worth a visit. Book early and save up! Not cheap at all. Staff in general were excellent; very professional and friendly. I am sure we will return as a family in future years! We have many happy memories. Thank you to the Tulemar Resort and all the staff...! ps. there are one or two very steep hills/climbs
