My stay at Luxent Hotel had several very positive aspects. The room is spacious, comfortable, and well laid out, making it easy to relax or work. The bed was very comfortable, which clearly contributed to a good night’s sleep. I also appreciated the well-designed desk area, which is practical and convenient, as well as the in-room safe, which is easy to use and reassuring. Throughout the stay, the staff were consistently friendly, smiling, and polite, especially the housekeeping team on the floors and the breakfast staff, who created a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the experience was negatively impacted by an issue at reception during check-in. I was informed only after handing over my debit card that the hotel would charge a 6% commission on the security deposit if paid with a debit card instead of a credit card. This information was not disclosed in advance. The deposit amount was 6,000 pesos, and although it is supposed to be fully refunded, a 6% fee would have been deducted. I find this practice highly questionable and unacceptable, particularly because it was revealed only after the payment process had already started. In the end, I used a credit card to avoid this charge, but guests who only have a debit card would be forced to pay this commission. Additionally, the service at the front desk felt rather slow.
