We stayed at Casa Gangotena twice on our trip. It’s a beautiful historic hotel. Great location in old town right on Plaza San Francisco (and near many restaurants, sights, and chocolate places). The team is great. So friendly and they think of everything. We had a late arrival and they provided some snacks and drinks in the room. When we had an early departure, they provided a breakfast bag for our trip. The rooms are large with pretty architectural details. The they provide a power ***** with lots of plugs bedside - thank you! Due to the beautiful marble and stone, you can hear the large heavy doors close and talking at times, but didn’t bother me. Bathrooms are large with separate walk in shower. The full size toiletries smell great (and thank you for not having tiny disposable packaging). Big fluffy towels. They provide bottles of still and sparkling water. We dined at the rooftop to watch the plaza. The drinks were creative and delicious. Our server was very friendly. Breakfast was quite good with buffet items (fruit, eggs, cereal, yogurt, pastries) and a menu with made to order dishes (included). Overall a wonderful hotel option in Quito.
