Casa Magnolia

My brother and SIL stayed here while visiting us in Cumbaya. Carol, the owner, was amazingly helpful and their stay at Casa Magnolia made their trip to Ecuador a success. The room was comfortable and the breakfast delicious. They most enjoyed wandering the grounds and enjoying the weather. This is a hidden gem in the valley with easy access to the airport, Quito and the Valle de los Chillos. I would recommend this as the best place to stay in the valley.

Pictures do not do this place justice as it is extremely beautiful and homey. We arrived at 1:30 a.m. at the airport to be picked up by a Casa Magnolia recommended driver who took us through this gated paradise and helped us to our room. There were 3 of us who shared one room with enough space for 6 people. We called this the treehouse because it had two stories with a balcony that overlooked a well stocked avocado tree with an amazing cat who visited us every day and slept with us at night! We woke up very tired the next day from traveling to be surprised with a very lavish fresh breakfast that included eggs anyway you like it, meat and cheese platter, fresh bread, coffee or tea and a fresh homemade juice. The owner came and greeted us and is always there to help and answer questions. She called a taxi anytime we needed it and has a great heart as she helps street dogs find a home and takes them to the vets for help and therapy. The grounds were gated and there were several dogs roaming who were very friendly and it made us feel as if we were home. The SCALA mall is a 10 minute walk mostly downhill and you can take a taxi back for $2. Its very close to downtown Cumbaya and there is everything you need nearby. We will not hesitate to stay here again.
