Red Roof PLUS+ Raleigh Downtown - NCSU/Conv Center

This hotel is a little way out from the immediate downtown area, but it was easy to get around with public transport nearby. The hotel itself was very clean, and the staff were incredibly supportive and friendly throughout my stay. I also had a nice view from my room, and the fact that there's a walking trail nearby was a fantastic bonus for unwinding after a busy day. The Verified Wi-Fi was reliable, and I appreciated the free coffee in the lobby to start the mornings . Highly recommend for a comfortable, budget-friendly stay near Raleigh!

I had items in my room that went missing and some of the employees were not respectful

100% Smoke free property, unless of course, you’re friends with the receptionist.. then it’s totally fine to smoke inside! Absolutely tacky start to our check-in. Not a good part of Raleigh either, high crime area and homeless. Our party was traveling for business, and had we been given ample time to find lodging, I would’ve chosen anywhere but here. You REALLY get what you pay for. No microwave or fridge, no hot water, and a very outdated, dirty room overall. Red Roof is a hit or miss, and this one missed by far.

The hotel smells fowl. Not sure what I was smelling but it stunk. Maybe just a weird musty odor? The bath tub was gross and the shower rod was all jacked up. On a positive note, the TV worked, It was in a good location, only $80 and the bed was more comfortable than it looked.

Around 25 minutes after arrival there were two what Google called carpet beetles. They were tiny. Then around an hour later when we returned with food two roaches came from under the microwave and then one was crawling on the wall by the night stand. We notified the front desk who offered another room, on the same floor. Upon inspecting that room before unpacking again...there were a couple of dead bugs in the room and a spider in the window. There was also an alive spider in the bed. We informed the front desk that we were leaving and was told to request a refund through **********. That process was completed only to be notified Red Roof Inn declined the request for a refund. We sent pictures as proof as well. Very dissatisfied with this booking.

Room was in terrible condition. TV, AC, and parking were fine except the AC did perpetuate the awful smell of the room
