The Pegwell Bay Hotel

Very nice traditional seaside hotel. All staff were friendly and attentive, breakfast was very good. Room was clean and we had a seaview. Only slight criticism is that the bed was too soft but I suffer with a bad back so this may not be the case for others.

Lovely old world hotel. Plenty of parking (FOC). Staff very friendly and attentive. Rooms small but quaint clean and comfortable. Rooms can become oppressively hot in the summer despite the fan. No air conditioning. Shower was powerful and refreshing. Very clean. Breakfast excellent. Couple of miles walk to Ramsgate. Nice quiet location. Great restaurant across the road. Recommended.

Had a great break at the Pegwell Bay Hotel. Easy to find and plenty of parking. Nice room with a apacious bathroom and a big shower. Ate in the hotel restaurant on both nights - it’s located just across the road from the main hotel and has a fabulous decking right on the seafront. Staff were great. Only negative was that the hotel was further out from the centre of Ramsgate than we’d assumed it was, but that was our fault not the hotel’s. Actually this didn’t spoil our enjoyment one bit, although we did use Ubers to get into town and back.

A very good hotel in an excellent location for Ramsgate and Broadstairs. Part of the hotel which is across the road on the seafront is a bar and dining room on the first floor and a room for breakfast on the ground floor with outside tables if preferred. All the food served at this hotel was good and the bedrooms some with sea views were very comfortable.

A friendly hotel in a peaceful setting. Just 1.5 miles from Ramsgate harbour. Room was clean and comfortable. Best Lasagne that I have eaten in years.

We became aware of this hotel through a travelzoo offer but had nothing left so booked 1 night direct. Only one room left, a cosy double. Don’t mind a small room for one night however the bed was a standard 4’5 and just couldn’t sleep. Slept on floor at 3am but that’s just us. Having said that the location and food were excellent, we had a lovely evening meal and the breakfast was first class with good choice. We would like to stay again but need to pick the room earlier. Staff were very helpful but not so up to date on the history of the hotel etc. Lovely coastal walks both ways which weren’t to strenuous.

During my stay in the UK from early July 2026, I spent a night at this hotel after visiting friends in Rochester. I had originally looked for accommodation in Ramsgate, but as no suitable hotel was available there, I chose this one instead. In the end, it turned out to be a very satisfying stay. The hotel is located right by the sea and occupies a historic building. From the foundation stone in the car park, it appears to date from the late 19th century, which adds to its character. Check-in was smooth, and the staff gave clear and helpful explanations. Our twin room was reasonably spacious, especially compared with hotels in London, and it was well equipped with amenities. Across the road from the hotel is a seafront restaurant operated by the same hotel, where we had dinner. Wanting to try local seafood, we ordered the Pegwell Prawn Cocktail and a Seafood Sharer Board with mussels and whitebait. Everything was excellent. Breakfast was served in the dining room on the ground floor of the hotel. The room had a calm, pleasant atmosphere and made for a relaxing start to the day. Overall, this was a highly enjoyable stay: a historic seaside hotel with comfortable rooms, efficient service, and particularly memorable seafood.

Lovely welcoming staff. Good location Dated but is what it is. Great breakfast, comfy bed and good shower. Curtains in room were thin so was woken early by light shining through. Room 005 needs blackout curtains
