Bull Inn

This is a beautiful quaint pub run by the fullers brewer.Quintessentially English it was a posting in many years ago on the route from London to Bath and beyond. The stables are now the kitchen and it is the kitchen I would like to highlight.Firstly is has a chef not a cook and the food is beautiful….however…and there is always a however, the portions are very small…..for example the octopus starter is one 6 inch tentacle……I saw it delivered to the table and the man’s face was absolute shock…..”£10 for that.I could buy a giant 🐙 octopus for the same price” he exclaimed.Woofed it down in 30secomds😂😂It’s a shame because the food is vey good. Open fire, good selection of ales and largest, fantastic staff, especially Ray behind the bar. Please Git this place it’s lovely……but don’t come here if your hungry😂😂

Didn’t expect much from this hotel for the price but we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are very basic but were clean enough and had everything there we needed for a short stay. Everything is on your doorstep and the pub in the hotel is a great place to start your night off. The staff were all really friendly and very helpful and there was a good atmosphere, we seen a few meals being served and they all loooked nice. The breakfast was outstanding, we had the full English and didn’t have one complaint, there was plenty on the plate and the bacon especially was fantastic. I honestly feel we got more value for our money, If you want to live in luxury then this isn’t the place for you but if you want somewhere cheap and cheerful then we would 100% recommend.
The Market House

I stayed at the Market House for one night to recover after a long flight. My room (room 1 on the first floor) delighted me. I loved the bright, quirky decoration, excellent, spotless bathroom, comfortable mattress and the superior tea/coffee selection. So much thought had gone into decorating and equipping the room. The heating (on a cold, cold day) was brilliant. I slept so well (note it was midweek and there was no noise from the bar below or on the street outside). Checking-in, however, could have been better -- I needed to make a phone call from the street outside -- and the staff member with whom I dealt appeared disappointingly subdued about Reading and about the hotel itself.
The Roseate Reading

Good location, five minutes walk from Reading Railway Station. The entrance is a street garden. Opposite is the office building. The room was on the back floor and looked like a new one, but it didn't taste much. The room is large, the bathroom is large, and it is very comfortable. Breakfast is not bad, there are not many options, but it tastes good. There is a parking lot.

Really loved everything about this hotel - from my stay to the food and it’s location close to the city centre. Will definitely choose to stay here every time I visit Reading! Staff is really friendly and helpful as well - they knock on the door every morning the room!

Very good British basic three-star rooms below have no slippers. This is a four-star location, but there is no toothbrush and toothpaste. You need to bring your own. There is a computer in the lobby. Breakfast can be printed for free. If you want to eat Chinese food and breakfast, you need to charge another five. You can cross the road to the subway station, but the British subway law and order is very poor. There are a lot of subway thieves. Please don't bring too much cash. You can use the visa card to swipe the card anywhere. Don't worry about carrying a 100 pounds. enough
